The folks at the High Gear F1CS2K forums have come up with some suggested changes for the engine inertia, stiffness, and friction values for the F1CS All Chassis Patch ("ACP"). The goal at this point is to improve tire wear characteristics without compromising the enhanced "feel" you get with the ACP. If anybody else would like to test these new values and give us your thoughts, you can download the "Beta2" version here: http://irlinsider.adnetweb.com/sims/F1CSACPV2Beta.zip This works just like the All Chassis Patch; the executable zip file has a different name than the V1 version, so if you have that on your machine, you should be able to easily switch back-and-forth from these new values to the original "All Chassis Patch" values. The Beta2 version features slightly relaxed engine inertia values (0.110 versus the 0.090 value in the current ACP release) to compensate for the different tire friction values, so the engine might not feel as responsive as it does in the original V1 version of the ACP. I've also put together a "Beta3" version of the All Chassis Patch using the enhanced tire values that includes some slightly more aggressive engine inertia values (0.060, versus 0.090 in the original ACP or 0.110 in the Beta2 version). With the Beta3 verion, you might have to move your brake balance forward, because your brakes will no longer have to be slowing down the engine as well as the car (just a click or two should do). You can download the Beta3 version here: http://irlinsider.adnetweb.com/sims/F1CSACPBeta3.zip Check these out and leave your comments here, or e-mail me if you'd like. So far I REALLY like the Beta3 values, but there are some varying opinions on this. The goal is still to come up with a fixed set of values that can be incorporated into Si Phi's Replay Manager, to allow for the use of the ACP in offline leagues, hotlap competitions, and online racing, so your input is needed. Good question! <G> I'm trying to find some sort of consensus amongst the masses so I can finalize the "All Chassis Patch." Once consensus of sorts is reached and the patch is finalized, I will solicit Si Phi to "allow" these values in his Replay Manager, which would then enable people to use these values in hotlap competitions, league play, etc. In lieu of some sort of consensus (or more feedback from the masses), I'm going to simply play "dictator" and finalize the patch using MY favorite values (the Beta3 version fits that description at the moment). I'm no expert, and I don't claim to be as adept at all this as the "Friends of ISI" who developed SCGT's Advanced Options Editor, which is why I've been trying to make this a community effort, but that may not be a workable solution. I know I won't be able to please all the people all the time, but I'd like to have more input before I try to establish my "own" personal "standard" for F1CS2K advanced physics. Make sense? ;-) -- JB F1CS2K Rank 68.354 http://f1cs2krank.dhs.org Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/
