I used to have time to race more, actually got to 1:04s at the Glen,
started racing in an F3 league, but gave it up for quite a while. I
actually fly sims more, some Delta Force 3 when i'm bored, and N3 when
a couple buddies are online. I would really like to have a small group
to get together with that are as unprepared as I am.. You know who you
are...

There is such a group :)
We call it the "Old & Slow Racing League" (OSRL)
http://www.geocities.com/osrl_2000/
It's more of an old gentleman's social club. We race for fun not points.
Winning a race is secondary to having a good time and a clean race.
We have people all over the world in our group, Australia, UK, Denmark USA
and Canada... I may have left a couple out :)
We race 2 tracks every week alternating Sundays or Saturdays, that way more
folks have an opportunity to race. There is no official director or boss,
everyone does what they can too help out and everything is decided by the
group not by any individual.
If you're interested go to the web site and join the egroups link there
and introduce yourself, that's about it :)

I'd be in for having the odd race now and then online... I feel like I fit
into this kind of racing people... when I race with my friends, if there's
jsut 2 or 3 we go round the track together racing and if someone spins out,
the other waits till they get going again and the race is on again... to me
it's all about the close in racing and not the winning the race because the
other guy is 3/4 a lap behind... what fun is that... I'd much rather say
"man you took me well in turn 4" or "bet i was taking up all your mirror
space"
Anyone feel free to email me to organise some of these races or contact me
on ICQ 11965380.

I've raced you ozzies before, from here on the lEast coast of USA,
worked quite well. While the lag was about 440, the quality was
very high.

Hi DG,
Don't let the fact that you are in Oz discourage you from racing
overseas with GPL.
I have raced overseas in a overseas based league, since day one of
GPL's release, and have had excellent results.
My pings vary from .450 to .800 on the different hosts and racing is
excellent and warp free for 99.9% of the time.
In F1, pings up to .650 are fine, F2/FD about .700 and F3/FG, pings of
up to .800 are fully raceable and warp free, providing your quality is
close to 1.000.
SO, don't listen to the doom artists that say you need pings under
500, as that is simply uneducated comments.
Cheers,
Ron Ayton
