I thought that Nascar 4 was supposed to be the first racer that supported Hardware 3D accelerator based Transformation and Lighting for cards like the Geforce 2 and Radeon, thereby giving a major boost in frame rate for slower machines. Supposedly, a Geforce 2 can do T&L faster than the fastest P3 can in software. Has anyone heard anything concerning this or future games supporting this?
I don't think T&L will help low end systems. IT will help, but if you have a pig of a cpu, no amount of vidcard magic will help. dave henrie "Loosay2" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > I thought that Nascar 4 was supposed to be the first racer that supported > Hardware 3D accelerator based Transformation and Lighting for cards likethe > Geforce 2 and Radeon, thereby giving a major boost in frame rate forslower > machines. Make sure you disable vsynch in OpenGl tab, should get rid of the flickering. And yes, N4 takes advantage of Nvidia's hardware T & L, and I'm sure we'll see more games developed that utilize it as well. -- Don Burnette Dburn in N3 and Legends ICQ# 74084566 "rdracer" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:cMrf6.3685$[email hidden]... > I have a vision tek geoforce 2 gts 32ddr > and i get about 10fps more but it flickers > in open gl or d3d it doesnt flicker ? > > Rd > "Loosay2" <[email hidden]> wrote in message > news:[email hidden]... > > I thought that Nascar 4 was supposed to be the first racer that supported > > Hardware 3D accelerator based Transformation and Lighting for cards like > the > > Geforce 2 and Radeon, thereby giving a major boost in frame rate for > slower > > machines.
