1. Does Nascar-4 officially support multiple processors?
2. If it does support multiple processors, does it need a multi-processor
operating system? ie: Win-NT or WIN2000
I'm building a new machine dedicated to N4 so Papyrus can you give me an
official answer
Thanks,
Sal
Do we know of any program that takes advantage of multiple processors that
doesn't run on a multiple-processor-enabled O/S?

then why not tell me? If you don't know the answer then what's your point?
All I've heard mentioned so far on this subject is that N4 could use
multiple processors, no talk of how, ie: SMP, multi-threading or O/S. That's
why I'm asking.

That's

I thought there was a version of Quake as well as GPL, that could take
advantage of multiple processors in WIN9x. Well what about the first
question anyway? Do you know if N4 will use multiple processors or not?
Thanks,
Sal

That's exactly right. The OS has to RECOGNIZE SMP before everything
else comes into play. I have a dual setup and run win 2k, Linux and
the BeOS. They all take advantage of SMP expecially BeOS. Every app
that runs on BeOS is automatically multi-threaded. Unfortunately games
don't run on it. Right now I'm running my AMD 750 overclocked to 1070
box. Will install N4 on the dually box tomorrow and benchmark.
Right now I'm running in Open GL. How is the D3D version speedwise?
Anyone compare the 2 yet?

processors...why ask such a ridiculous question? Whether the game supports
multiple processors is a great question...and like GPL it does. But asking
Papy to produce a game that supports multiple processors running on an O/S
that doesn't support them was asking a bit much....I thought.
