I've been experiencing this really weird problem a few times. I join a race
on VROC, it connects fine and I go for a few laps. When I press escape to
return to the pits, it locks up, the screen goes black and I hear a loop of
0.25-0.50 sec. sound. It can stay like that for op to 5 minutes, and finally
it disconnects from the server, asking if I want to reconnect. The same
thing appened the one time I did reconnect.
I haven't got a clue about what to do (except reinstalling my system) and I
don't know what I did to make it go wrong (it used to run fine).
For what it's worth, my system specs are 700Duron, ASUS A7V board, 128MB
ram, GeForce2MX, SB Live! 1024

Forgot something.. The same night I experienced this for the first time,
some stupid f*** installed a virus on my pc (W32.HLLW.Bymer). It didn't seem
to have done any harm, and when I deleted the infected file, it didn't show
up again.
Do you use a firewall?
I did have that problem with Zone alarm firewall.

Yes, I do now, but when the problem occured for the first time I didn't use
any security measures at all
