Hi ya, been playing the demo and can get an average 30fps with no other cars..... with a (don't laugh it's very sad system) PII 266, 128 meg ram, TNT M64 card. Is there a performance difference between demo and full, and whats gunna happen when I ad 20-40 cars. Cheers Dave

Even my Celeron 366 o/c to 550 has a hardtime keeping up. I'm getting around 18-33 fps with everything set to default except for the amount of cars. 6 drawn ahead, 3 behind, and no mirror. This is with a Creative TNT2 Ultra.
That PC would struggle with plenty of new games I think. "David Golding" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

If you race online against full fields (with cars drawn ahead down low) then theres barely a hit at all. AIs another matter, but ai is not and never will be real people. pez David Golding <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

im a 33k modem user (detuned to 31,200bps for stability) in the n4 demo i was regularly racing on american servers from the UK with pings of between 200 and 400 (just like GPL). mostly good quality connections. im in vroc alot, same with irf (only have the n4 demo), and the people there dont complain about any warp theyve seen from me (even though it invariably happens every now and again). pez rrevved <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > On Wed, 14 Feb 2001 20:16:17 -0000, "Alexpez" <[email hidden]> wrote: > > >If you race online against full fields (with cars drawn ahead down low)then

Correct. The AI will never drive the wrong way on a track causing accidents 'for the hell of it'...
