I am very surprised, but I gained 3 - 10 fps in N4 after upgrading DX 7.0a to 8.0a. A couple of days ago, I gained an equal amount by installing the Detonator 3 drivers (I had Detonator 2 series before that). N4 is running quite nicely now compared to the initial install period. Hopefully a substantial patch will be out soon for the AI mess and player damage. PIII-800, 256 MB RAM, GeForce2 GTS 32 MB video Marc. -- **************************************************************************** Marc Collins [email hidden] Your mouse has moved. Windows must be restarted for the change to take effect. Reboot now? ****************************************************************************

Um........Sorry, forgot to add that the vid card is a 32mb. Todd
Don't install the DX8 from the game. Go to microsoft.com and install the DX8a update from there. I have heard the this is the way to go. I am running DX8a on Windows 2000 with no problem. /TomH "Glockenspiel" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...
