Anyone else here seen this? I ordered a copy from
PBS and watched it for the first time this
evening.
It's the story of Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin with the
role of Sir Henry played by Rowan Atkinson.
Wasn't aware, prior to ordering this item, that
Atkinson has turned more than a few of the
millions he has earned as Mr. Bean into some
pretty impressive wheels. Seems he is a
substantial contributor to the preservation
efforts at Brooklands and, for his troubles, is
one of the few people allowed to drive the Napier
Railton -- which he did at the 2000 Goodwood
Festival of Speed.
Full Throttle packs a lot into its 58 minutes.
Brooklands looks pretty scary from the seat of a
late Twenties Dodge.
At its heart, Full Throttle is a story of one
man's obsession with racing, starring someone who
has more than a touch of it. Worth a look.
