At the risk of exposing my lack of professionalism, is there a keyboard
command to re-start the race after a bad start?
If I remember correctly, I think N3 and GPL had a shift+R combo or something
like that.
I know, I know...It's the wus's way out of a bad start. My excuse is that
I'm forced to use an inaccurate wheel right now, and the frame rate seems to
drop significantly for a few seconds at the green flag (hence less control).
I assure you my head is lowered in shame as I ask this.

Once the race is started you either finish it or have the option of saving
the session when you exit. If you save the current session, it only saves
prior to the start of the race - ie, your qualifying and race start
position.
So yes, you can start a race over with your original qualifying, but you
will have to exit , save the session, and go back in.

says...
Haven't tried it myself, but if you exit after you qualify you should
be asked if you want to save the race weekend.
You should then be able to load it and re-start the race.
Would mean pre-empting a bad start, but for me it's a given. ;)
Cheers,
Rod.

I wanted to avoid
leaving the track. I think N3 just instantly put you back on the start line.

procedure.

it will force us to be better drivers since the cost of a botched up start
is high.

I could be wrong, you start to lose your memory when you have not played it
for awhile

You are wrong.
I wish that feature was in N4 as well - It takes too long to have to
reload the track that advance up to race =P

correct gpl had shift r which allowed the car to be reset. But to RESTART
the race...you had to exit.
