I too get better fps in d3d than opengl. At the back at Dega, at the start, 40
fps in d3d - 32 fps in open gl. I too cant get FSAA to work with a geforce
card. Tried all the open gl settings suggestions with no change.
system
dell p3 600
256 megs ram
sblive
geforce 256
the only thing i would like to know from others with the same problem is, do
you have a voodoo2 on the computer also? I do. I am beginning to wonder if
that has something to do with it.
Mike
Mike,
I just figured out how to get FSAA working, in D3D, with my GeForce 256 (by
ELSA). I upgraded to release 10.50 of the NVIDIA drivers. Had something
like version 6.31 prior to this.
One big problem (for me) though. While FSAA now works for D3D, the visual
quality is awful. everything is "muddy". I'm back to running in OPENGL,
with 2X2 AA turned on. It looks very nice like this and I get around 30-42
FPS (depending on traffic). I could gain some more FPS by turning off the
AA, but to me, AA on makes a huge difference.

I am
using the Detonater 3 6.50 (?) drivers. Thanks for the help though.
Mike
10.50 ?
If this number is right, nVidia has lost their freakin minds.

I have twin Voodoo2 cards in my PC besides my "Asus V7000 GTS
Pro 64meg" and have no problems with either D3d or openGL. N4 is
just running better for me under openGl *so far* after following Don
Burnette's instructions.. Thom_j.
