Hi guys, Anyone know where I can get a complete (or near complete), carset for F1CS2K? I have a 2001 set fo GP3, but Gp3 decided it hates DX8, so it looks like I'm S.O.L. on that front. :-(

Thanks Murchman, I hadn't seen that site before....but I made sure to bookmark it so I won't loose it! :-) I guess I can scrap GP3 now...and wait and see wait F1RC will bring us. :-) Thanks Again!
No help but some good setups at blackhole motorsports. dave henrie "GoBucks10" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > >Anyone know where I can get a complete (or near complete), carset > >for F1CS2K? > > Also any site with helps on setting up the cars, the manual is a joke..

No problem, also check out John Bodin's chassis patch. I use the advance files and they make the cars feel a lot better then stock more like you would imagine an F1 car to drive like. You can find John's patch at www.bhmotorsports.com Murchman

Thanks Dave, I can use all the help I can get... :-)
Seen this a couple of times on RAS and haven't figured it out yet - what's "S.O.L."? Hi In what ways does the chasis patch make the cars feel better ? I could not notice much difference nor anything wrong with the unchanged version ?

Hopefully John will post here as he can explain it better then I can. It makes the cars more sensitive as well as making them harder to control on the edge. You can now catch a spin and get it straight without doing a 180 or 360. The brake bias is fixed so you don't have to run them more towards the rear. The cars are also more twitchy and have a lot more feel to them. With the chassis patch you will no longer be able to come out of a second gear corner and nail it, if you do you will be facing the wrong direction before you no it. Throttle control is a must now... F1CS2K (and F1 2000) are essentially one-chassis sims, with different ENGINE parameters for each team. In reality, there are 11 different chassis in F1, and I wanted to see a Jordan or a Minardi handle differently than a Ferrari or a McLaren in F1 2000, so based on some suggestions made by David Mocnay in this newsgroup, I developed the All Chassis Patch. As it is, the pitch, yaw, and roll inertia values used in F1 2000 and F1CS2K are VERY relaxed. Calculated real-world values are TOO aggressive (i.e., undriveable, for the most part), so David Mocnay recommended some in-between values that worked well. I started a beta test program using these values on the High Gear F12000/F1CS2K forum area, and with the help of several others, we came up with everything that was needed to run the new physics and still get good AI performance. The result of this joint effort was the All Chassis Patch, for which I receive far too much credit (everybody else who helped receives credit in the readme file, though). The All Chassis Patch is a self-extracting which executable alters the individual *.veh files for each team to provide unique chassis inertia values for each of the 11 different chassis in the game. The objective of this patch is to provide different, unique handling characteristics for each chassis. This patch also alters the engine inertia parameters to simulate a lighter flywheel, making the engine feel more responsive and "snappy." There are two versions of the ACP -- "Advanced" and "Hardcore," with the Hardcore version featuring more aggressive (i.e., "realistic") tire stiffness and friction values. The download available at the BHMS site also includes an "Original Chassis Patch" which will allow you to easily switch back to the game's original values should you desire to do so. Hope this helps. -- JB F1CS2K Rank Handicap 57.896 http://f1cs2krank.dhs.org/ On Mon, 5 Mar 2001 10:48:27 +0800, "JOHN METCOW" <[email hidden]> wrote:

Still John, A job **extremely well done** to you & your helpful co-programers! From myself a big thanx... <g> Cheers Thom_j. Thank you That was most informative. I wonder if somehow there is any adjustment for toe-in / out in the real life F1 ? because in F1 CS there is no way to adjust that. does your ALL CHASIS patch somehow adjust for it as well ? I will try that patch again and look out for the difference. Thanks John Bodin <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...
