I'm trying to decide between GP 3 and F1 Championship 2000. Graphics aren't my biggest priority. I'm looking for the game which has the best gameplay, a fairly realistic physics model and competitive ai. My system specs are: P2 400 96MB ram Voodoo 3 2000 agp
Why don't you wait 10 days and then you can see some feedback on the final F1 Championship Season by UbiSoft which is supposed to be pretty good....perhaps better than both of the two sims you mention. I can tell you right now you will have nothing for graphics in F1C2K with a P2 400...I have a P3 600 and need to turn details to the bare minimum to get a decent frame rate. I like GP3 with the patches better anyway but have always been a fan of the Ubisoft games too. I think there are demos out for all three so why don't you try them out for a week or so and by that time F1CS will be out and you can have your pick of the three. Hi! I think you can't go wrong with either of them, I think they're both great games. Only if you have a force feedback wheel should GP3 come in fornt, but otherwise go for the screenshots :). Performance wise, they're about at the same level, and your machine should handle both at slightly reduced graphics levels. As another poster said, if you really feel you need to own only one F1 sim, I'd wait for the release of the F1 Racing Championship by UbiSoft, it could also be at the level of the two titles you mentioned, and probably surpass both of them in some respects. Based on the demo of F1 RC and some early reports, I still think GP3 will have the final edge in terms of overall impression, though. But opinions differ wildy on this newsgroup, and rightfully so. -Gregor Patrick Shumar wrote:

There's only one choice: GP3, you will find it runs well on your system. Sound, Graphics, Gameplay and AI are top notch.. F1 CS 2000 excels as a driving sim, but you can forget actually racing on your system. Also, if you haven't done so, give GPL a try - but you might find that it is by far the best racing simulation.
I agree with Marx, GP3 is the only choice. Stick with it, and you will find it will reward you with the most intense gameplay. GPL is excellent, but downforce rules!! All the rest are not even close when it comes to physics... "Alexander Marx" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Download the F1RC demo. Practice Spa until you are down to a 1:45 or so. Once you are pushing the car to the limit, you'll realize how good this sim is going to be. I'm a big fan of F12000CS and GP3, but I'm sure F1RC will beat them all. F1CS2000 is the best, but on your system I doubt it will run very well. I the graphics are better than in GP3. GP3 will probably run better. They are both good, I just prefer F1CS2000. F1CS2K was only 20 bucks at my local Babbage's. I picked it up and am enjoying it thoroughly. I never played GP3, as I am usually not an F1 fan. After reading through this post, though, I may have to check out the Ubisoft game. If it will run on your system and you get it cheap, try F1CS2K. I bought F1CS2K today and I think it stinks. Bad graphics (yes, GP3 is 10 times better), It feels like I am driving a marshmallow, not a car, and the sound is high and weeney. Go for GP3. I'd like to thank all of you for your input. I picked up GP3 today and am having a blast with it. The graphics could be better, but the gameplay is top notch. Also got the patch and 2001 cars.
