Is anyone aware of a hack to race Viper Racing under Windows 2000? Thanks.
Heh, ask around if anyone will lend ya a beta copy of Viper Racing that'll run under Win2k. I know one of the early release beta's of Viper worked in win2k, just never tried it myself -- Sincerely, Mark F. -- SimGoRacing -- http://www.simgoracing.com "Kory Yingling" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Is anyone aware of a hack to race Viper Racing under Windows 2000? > > Thanks. > > -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 80,000 Newsgroups - 16 Different Servers! =-----

Here it is. Sorry I got the name a but muddled up in my last post. It is normaly to be found on the NT4.0 Cd in \SUPPORT\DEBUG\I386. The appcompatabilty tool is on the Win2K Cd in\SUPPORT\TOOLS This is more comprehensive than the older setwin95 but setwin95 is all you usallly need. http://www.ntcompatible.com/ is a very good site learn how to get things working. However I even managed to get some games woking that ntcomaptable said wound't work. Just think we've got to do it all again when Whistler eventually comes out. Good Luck -- Some Call Me Tim begin 666 SETWIN95.CMD M0&5C:&\@;V9F#0I214T-"E)%32!4:&ES(&)A=&-H('-C<FEP="!W:6QL(&UA M<FL@86X@:6UA9V4@9FEL92!S;R!T:&%T(&ET('1H:6YK<R!I="!I<R!R=6YN M:6YG#0I214T@;VX@5VEN9&]W<R Y-2X-"E)%30T*:68@(B4Q(B ]/2 B(B!G M;W1O('5S86=E#0IE8VAO($UA<FMI;F<@)3$@97AE8W5T86)L92!S;R!I="!T M:&EN:W,@:70@:7,@<G5N;FEN9R!O;B!7:6YD;W=S(#DU#0II;6%G96-F9R M M=R P>$,P,# P,# T("4Q(#YN=6P-"F=O=&\@9&]N90T*.G5S86=E#0IE8VAO L(%5S86=E.B!3151724XY-2!E>&5C=71A8FQE1FEL94YA;64-"CID;VYE#0H` ` end
Ok, Thanks for the file..I used dos command of setwin95 viper etc, but it comes back with an error about imaging file unknown. How do you use this. I really would like to get viper racing to work under win2K Bob "Some Call Me Tim" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:Vczp6.1114$[email hidden]...

Copy setwin95.cmd the viper directory and then start up a command prompt in that directory. Rename viper racing.exe to viper.exe type setwin95 viper.exe Then rename viper.exe to viper racing.exe It's the space in the name that gives the problem. Have Fun -- Some Call Me Tim
