I just hope the final roads will be less wide then in these screenshots.
They are larger then in CMR2 ;-( I'm sorry, but large roads are NOT fun
in Rally sims. They are not realistic and not fun.

of thing ;-)
It would really be a pity to drive fun old cars, but that aren't that
powerful, on such wide roads.
Still waiting for the game though.

They are not realistic and not fun.Don't trust your eyes. Road width might look enormous in the screenshots
due to wider field of view (FOV) of the current camera. In truth, roads
in the game are just as wide as they are in real life. Of course it
varies a bit, depending where the stage is located.
And it's generally a handful to keep the Abarth between ditches at
110kph on a curvy road.. ;)

True about the Abarth, these little beasts are so fragile! :))

Care to answer me 3 things?
1. Is this a game or a simulator?
2. will there be an in-car driving view?
3. any multiplayer options planned?

1: Define the difference between game and simulation! Some things
related to that aspect are still on the drawing board, so I can't really
answer that yet. Car physics are very realistic, that much I can say.
2: Yes.
3: Oh yes.

It's beautiful and I hope he reach the quality of GPL.

This is a tough one -- I'm no expert, but I've done a pretty in-depth
analysis of the generic term "sim," and I would like to see game
developers and publishers give the topic at least as much throught as
I've put into it. Check out my article here:
http://www.simracingnews.com/article.php?page=1&id=26
Feel free to pass this article (or the URL, anyway) around to the rest
of the design team as well -- I'd be interested in hearing some
feedback from your perspective, especially with regards to your goals
with Historic Rally Trophy.

Ok, I brought the subject up here and showed the article around..
Rejoice, sim-heads! Rally Trophy (note the name change!) is/will be a
vehicle simulation with intricate detail on the physics involved. Not sure
how much I am allowed to go in detail, but I assure you it's very similar to
GPL on that aspect - if not surpassing it to some extent.
However, tweaking is not required to throw the cars around and have fun
racing. We'll try to suit as many tastes as possible, naturally.
Hope this answered your question!

I would love to *drive* the first win of a Mini at Monte Carlo in 1964! :-)

Thanks for the reply!!!
It sounds like Rally Trophy will be a HUGE surprise for a lot of
people -- maybe WSC won't be the ONLY thing that challenges GPL for
the new sim crown!
Hope you found the article to be an enjoyable read, BTW.

Article was excellent! Have to keep in mind that the definitions vary
between people, as they're often opinion- and feelings-based.. Or maybe
not the definitions as such, but the grey areas between them.
However, I believe lots of people agree with you. Now if just some big
PC gaming magazine published that article as well..
