Hi, It will install, but when he clicks on the run button it freezes. He installed it on a Pentium II 400mhz Win98 DX8.0a Creative Annihilator Pro 32 Meg card 64MB Ram (I think). He has tried both D3D and OpenGL. Any ideas? He will eventually run it on a 1.2 Athlon system, but is awaiting Asus to return his broken motherboard. -pw

FYI - The culprit was Direct X 8. He uninstalled it and put 7a back and he is in business. Makes me wonder if it is the cause of my crashes and lockups! -pw

I'm glad he found the problem...but this doesn't discount the fact that tons and tons of users have dx8 and are running trouble free... dave henrie "pw" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:990rup$nua$[email hidden]...
