Offroad is developed (er, published?) by Rage software. I was hoping
for an experience better than what 4x4 Evolution could provide and I
was seriously disappointed. Graphically, the game looks fantastic with
realistic weather effects, etc so that is not an issue. The gameplay,
however, just sucks!
Computer opponents move out of their way to hit you.
If you hit the Nitro you instantly lose control even if you tap the
brakes with the nitro cranking.
Certain car control issues make the game almost unplayable to actually
win.
Last glaring thing is that when you get offered a ride with a team you
have to complete there list of specific goals (i.e. Finish 3rd or
better in the points). I finished third in the one season where that
was the demand and didn't get my new tricked out ride and was still
stuck with the same dang team!
....sigh.... Back to 4x4 Evolution. The off-road genre definitely
needs work as of yet.
