In another thread I read of this card. Does anyone know if it works in Windows 2000? Don
I hate to put a crimp in a business....but with the improvement in soundcard ports, is the PDPI even really necessary anymore??? dave henrie "Don" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:hset6.3508$[email hidden]... > In another thread I read of this card. "Imho" USB has basically taken over. Plus isn't the PDPI card only available for ISA slots? All new mo'bos just have PCI.. Atleast mine does.. <g> Cheers Thom_j. "Dave Henrie" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:Qgft6.591949$[email hidden]...

Back in the dark ages when I had an SB16, the PDPI was a good deal, but with my SB Live, I'm *much* better off just using the soundcard and none of those ungodly setup hassles where you have to practically take your computer apart just to install the card. Another vote here for just using the soundcard. =^..^=
I thought the Live card's gameport was OK too, but in looking around I can't figure out if its a analogue or digital port (does it make a difference?), or the cpu usage in polling the controller with a Live card verses the PDPI. I want to ask my original question again, does the PDPI have any win2000 drivers? Don "The Black Cat =^..^=" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

I've got a SB Live and a L4 and I still prefer the L4. Once you get used to not having the "jitters" it is hard to go back. -Tony- The Black Cat =^..^= wrote in message ...

But do you run win2000? (or know if drivers exist?) Don "Tony Jester" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:cDrt6.8600$[email hidden]... > I've got a SB Live and a L4 and I still prefer the L4. Once you get usedto

Modern day soundcards may not degrade the performance of your steering wheel, they don't IMPROVE it either. And that's just where the PDPI L4 comes looking around the corner: it improves the signal that is received from the wheel. So yes, the PDPI is still a great deal, no matter what sound card you're using. --- Joeri J.
