Getting started advice for a new GPL owner

A new Grand Prix Legends buyer asked what patches and add-ons to install. Replies pointed to the official 1.2 patch, the unofficial D3D patch, link collections and Phil Lee's beginner's guide, along with advice to be patient.

Hi, I've just ordered GPL and should get it in the next day or so. I was wondering if there are any patches or add ons that I should get immediately? If so, where can I find them? Thanks, Doug
www.papy.com Go for the patch, I believe it is 1.2, and if your running a GeForce card or other d3d card, you'll want the d3d unofficial patch as well. Many other goodies out there including track addons I'm sure others will point you too. -- Don Burnette D Burnette in N4 Some people do nothing wrong. The problem is, they do nothing. And THAT is wrong. "Doug Justice" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Hi, > > I've just ordered GPL and should get it in the next day or so. Thanks fellas! I've just noticed something else. I'm not seeing all of the posts to this group. I'm missing some of the original posts. For example, Don Burnette replied to my post but I didnt see it. I did see it included in Doug Hook's reply. This happens quite a lot. What's up? hehe....Nascar 4 has already made me a recluse. The good news is that I'm a teacher and I have a summer break coming up in about 5 weeks!! "Todd Walker" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

You might like to read an article I wrote at http://www.slottweak.com/gplintro.htm called "A Beginner's Guide to Grand Prix Legends". Cheers Phil -- http://www.legendscentral.com http://www.geocities.com/f2_festival GPL Handicaps: F1 -3.09 secs, F2 +115.11 secs

I recommend the "patience" and "perseverance" addons:-) When you first try GPL you will find it very hard to even do one lap. Keep on practising though - it's really worth it and if you're anything like me or many of the others on this group, you'll be driving GPL for years to come. - Michael
Phil, That's a great article! Answered all of my questions. Doug "Phil Lee" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:qYcB6.6115$[email hidden]...

Yes, that's right, just a header-change. I don't know if some newsreader see this as a new thread - my OE doesn't (yeah, beat me, beat me ;) ). But I'll keep that in mind next time. Sorry for any inconvenience. Regards Crash

Damn! - I was hoping for the GPL->N4 track converter or something ;)...
