I'm am using a voodoo 3 for gpl which looks good running on my celeron 416 (dont ask!). As I live in the UK I have only had N4 for a week or so and the graphics are struggling to say the least using d3d. So it looks like it may be time for a video card upgrade, which card should I go for? Suggestions welcome . Thanks, Pete.

Suppose that would depend on your budget. I am using an ATI Raedon All-in wonder with 32MB DDR. PIII 600 256MB PC100 RAM. Works well with pretty much everything on. I had an ATI AIW Pro AGP with 8MB Video Memory when I got N4 and couldn't hardly get the game to even fire up. Tech support told me that the bare min on video memory was 12MB but I guessed that to be a waste of time. I really wanted to stay with the built in TV tuner etc. so the Raedon worked out great for me. Did have to update the drivers though. bottom line is what else do you want in a card. You will likely get a lot of support here for g-force etc but again it's what else you need and what fits your budget. (Don't gimme NOCRAP in E-mail)

IMHO, the GeForce Pro (such as the Hercules GTS II Pro) is the best performance/dollar card out there. Very close to the performance of the Ultra for only a few dollars more than the standard GTS II. -Larry "Pete" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:9ci7aq$ip9$[email hidden]... > I'm am using a voodoo 3 for gpl which looks good running on my celeron 416 > (dont ask!). I think your cpu is more the problem than your graphics card.
