I downloaded the 2001 update for GP3 from www.grandprix-3.de, and
installed it successfully. However, the driver teams are still from
1999, and the new tracks (ie- Sepang and Indy) aren't installed.
Obviously, there must be an extra step that I need to take to bring this
update up-to-date, so to speak. I'm not familiar with jam files, etc,
so I could use some detailed instructions on what I need to do. Any
help would be appreciated.
P.S.: My newsreader has been flaky as of late, so I would appreciate if
any response be copied to my e-mail address ([email hidden]).
Thanks.

you need to start GPxPatch
on the startup tab, enable GPxTrack
then, on the GPxTrack tab... make sure the path for the track set is
..GP3\gpxdata\tracks.set

Subject Re: GP3 2000?
Well I heard May, but who knows. I just downloaded GP3Update 2001
from http://www.grand-prix-3.de/gp3update2001.htm . Unless there's a
major improvement that the GP3 2000 update offers, I see no reason to
buy it. I'll wait and see what it looks like when it's released.

KK,
Thanks for the reply. I followed your advice exactly. However, I still don't
get the "new" tracks or teams. I do get the added onscreen info during
Qualifying, however. Do you have any other ideas on what I'm doing wrong? It's
probably something simple and obvious, but I can't figure it out.
Thanks.

on the GPxTrack tab, select edit to bring up all the individual
tracks....... each track (numered 1-16) should have the name (eg.
malaysia.dat) next to it.... the xxx.dat file is the circuit from the 2001
update and should be in your GP3/circuits directory.... in that directory
are also a bunch of F1ctxx.dat files which are the default (original) GP3
circuits. if the new tracks aren't coming up i think it's just a matter of
getting the path to the relevant .dat file right.... also, check that you
have the GP3jamsH directory in the GP3 dircetory.. this contains all the
track data.... and the GPxPatch utility should be installed in the GP3
directory
KK
Thanks again for your help, Kasper. I had most of the files in the wrong
directories. But, I have it straightemed out now, and it's like a whole new
game.
Thanks!
