What a day today...
1) Cloudless skies all day and 80 degrees;
2) The first interesting Cup Final in years (what a striker Michael
Owen is);
3) The hilarious rhyming presenters for the Eurovision Song Contest
(winners: Estonia)...
...and...
...4) Sub 2 minutes at Rouen in the Ferrari :-D *FINALLY!*
OK, so it's pretty small beer (someone did a 56 in a Cooper there in a
race I was in last night), but who cares?

A sub-two-minute Rouen lap and FA Cup banter
David Buttery celebrated a good day including a sub-two-minute lap of Rouen in GPL's Ferrari. Others teased him, compared their Rouen times (Tony Whitley soon managed 1:59.67), and argued about English football clubs.
Automated summary.
Move along, lads, nothing to see here....

Why? you don't like Arsenal do you? they are a bunch of arrogant twats with
crap fans, 'eveybody' in England hates them, when they beat us (Newcastle)
in 1998 while they picked up the trophy all you could hear on was the Toon
fans singing:
We are the Geordies,
the Geordie boot boys,
and we are mental and we are mad,
we are the loyalest football supporters,
the world.... has ever... had
While Liverpool picked up the trophy the arsenal (fans?) were heading for
their cars.

Show off! My best is 2:00.38, in the Lotus. I hadn't noticed those three
(and a bit) tenths, they'll have to go, Monaco can go on hold for a while...

(It owuld have been better if Bromley had won it, but we got knocked out in the
second qualifying round by... the Met Police!)

I think we deserve a bit of sour grapes ;-) you can't deny Newcastle are a
massive club at least top 6 in the country if not top 3 but we haven't won
anything since 1969 (UEFA cup) and nothing domestically since 1955 (FA cup
our last of 6) and no title since 1927 (last of 4). Name me another club in
the big 10 that hasn't won anything in the last decade let alone the last 3.
Yet we can fill our 52000 stadium with season ticket holders and still have
a waiting list even after 3 seasons finishing in the bottom half with a crap
team :(
Anyway I hate arsenal don't you? I thought everyone did northern or not ;)

Well, *yeeess*, in the same way that Wolves are a "sleeping giant" and
Nottm Forest were "too good to go down"...

I am. But since when have neutrals been barred from watching the FA
Cup? In any case, Fowler needs some match practice - we'd be happy to
take him on loan...

Well actually we are in financial terms (turnover) the 3rd biggest in the
country and I think about 7th in Europe and we are likely to move back up to
2nd this year because of the expanded stadium, and there was only ever one
sleeping giant and we have yet to fully wake ;)

Thanks for the gee-up, I managed to put a good (race) lap together in the
Ferrari et voila - 1:59.67. My first lap in the Lotus after that was 2:00.03
but it went downhill rapidly when I tried to push a bit harder :-(
I didn't try the Honda (wimp).
