Thirteen new World Sports Cars screenshots after E3

Kenneth Verburg announced 13 new World Sports Cars screenshots on High Gear after E3 2001. Posters admired them, then queried whether two near-identical shots were staged; ymenard later hinted that the explanation was an exciting feature, and others guessed at a replay editor or spectator mode. Tom Pabst teased that he had seen the game but offered 'no comment'.

These look amazing, as have all the WSC screenshots from the very beginning. Anyone know anything about the West Bros progress? Presumably the middle of next year is a realistic date. whats to explain? A Ferrari 333sp leading some other cars around a track that 'may' resemble Brands Hatch? Keep in mind, the time period for WSC is now several years old from when they first began working on it. I beleive the 'plan' is to have cars from several era's available.(including A Can Am Mclaren and posibly a GPLish F1 car.) dave henrie "Asbjrn Bjrnstad" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > "Kenneth Verburg" <[email hidden]> writes: > > > The E3 Expo 2001 has ended, but we have a final treat for you. The three front cars are placed the excact same way in the pictures, even the cracks in the tarmac are the same. But the two rear cars has just disappeared. Looks like arranged photos, not frames of a film. -- -asbjxrn

You know, when you call for Wests to 'shut up', think a bit about who is doing most of the talking. Certainly not the Wests themselves, and also not Empire. -Gregor Todd Walker wrote:

Question for you Todd. If you are so bored and annoyed at the news of WSC why do you keep reading and adding to it. Could you please tell me how you can justify the line 'Maybe if they spent more time working on the "game" and less time > releasing screen shots' when these are the first screenshots for months onthe game, and they have come from E3 where I believe people generally release scren shots. If they are the hype merchants you seen to firmly believe they are surely they would have a web site praising all the virtues of this 'Vapourware' as you put it? Response please. I agree. Not to mention the fact that the reflections on the front of the cars are exactly the same in a few of the shots (eg 12 and 13). I think these are not real in game shots. But thats just my opinion "ymenard" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:jn3O6.1011$[email hidden]...

I'll have to apologise to the West brothers, as in the two cases I was WRONG. And the reason why it's not 1) parked cars or 2) a digital alteration is pretty exciting, but I won't say more ;-D I'll now eat my words... <prints his post and eats the paper eh> -- -- Franois Mnard <ymenard> -- May the Downforce be with you... -- http://www.ymenard.com/ -- This announcement is brought to you by the Shimato Dominguez Corporation - helping America into the New World...

Maybe it's drawing less cars behind?
Guys....I was at E3 last year...and this year......and these are my candid remarks regarding the "speculation" on WSC and Empire and Chris and Tony and Derek Bell losing a race to me at Brands in a pair of 962's last week.......in an not-to-be-named hotel room with about 40 "spectators" jammed into the room: "No comment!" It's not maybe, it's excactly what it does. :-) I was just wondering why, it's obviously not a in-car shot, but a track camera. (Which would indicate a replay.) -- -asbjxrn

Dynamic race replay editor? (ie, remove certain cars, change angles and all that on the fly) -Slash -- "Ebert Victorious" - The Onion
