Has anyone tried to port the tracks from "AMA Superbike" to gpl? The have some of the best model tracks I've seen. Their version of Mid-Ohio is the best ever.
What you would have after reading the AMA Superbike tracks from our format is at best a bunch of textured polygons. (A "polygon soup") They would be unlikely to be arranged in the way another game needs it for things like ground height checking, determining what to draw and what to ignore, etc. How much help having a bunch of polygons to start from is to third party track developers I wouldn't know. There could of course be lots of legal issues that aren't in my area of expertise :), but the technical issues seem daunting enough. "Wayne M. I've been harping about this for about a month or so.. I agree totally. First queries around the web seem to be rather disapointing...nobody has the tools to convert the track...(that I know of) dave henrie Road America, Mid Ohio..those are great versions...it's a shame AMA was such a flop. dave henrie "Wayne M. I don't remember even *seeing* AMA Superbike in the stores. Who made it? Eldred -- Dale Earnhardt, Sr. R.I.P. 1951-2001 Homepage - http://www.umich.edu/~epickett F1 hcp. +25.37...F2 +151.26... Mr Jessick who's post is just above this in the thread by a message or two. His group was called Moto Sims. Last I heard they had attempted a Can Am sim but that died when the Series was cancelled, now, they are working on a Trans Am sim (modern) but I haven't heard any details lately about their progress... Perhaps Matt Jessick could fill us in....??? Their plan was a pay to race setup similar to the Warbirds model in flight simming...Unfortunately..they had to release their product before it was fully finished and even with several patches, it's online play was/is dodgy. Great tracks and physics tho... note to Thomj...I have it...from Wal Mart...I've been spouting off about it for a month...where have you been :) dave henrie "EldredP"
