How many racing sims do you have installed?
Members listed the racing sims on their hard drives, ranging from just GPL and N4 to more than 20 titles. Lists showed GPL and NASCAR Racing 4 as near-universal, with others including GP3, F1RC, NASCAR Heat, Viper Racing, SCGT and Mercedes-Benz Truck Racing, which ymenard called underrated; some recalled older titles like Indianapolis 500 and Grand Prix Circuit.
community/metagame comparison
Automated summary.
I have GPL and N4. Although N4 has alot of cob webs on it =)
I was thinking of picking up Leadfoot to "play" with though.
Now if you want to talk about how many titles I have on CD sitting around,
then the list is much, much longer. Seems that over the last year or so
the developers have become very good at releasing titles that are not worth
staying on the hard drive =(

I'm considering doing the same for AMA Superbike.

Primarlily just play GPL and F12000. I haven't touched GP2 and F1RS in

And I'll need an upgrade before I'll pick up Nascar 4 (currently just
have a Pentium II 400 and a Voodoo 3 3000).

GPL, say no more :)
N4 technically brilliant, but would prefer open wheeled (any comment TRUSR ?
<G>)
F1RC (best current F1 sim IMO)
MBTR (definitely a good sim)
Curently collecting dust
GP3 close but no cigar
GP2 brilliant, in it's day
F1 2000 A great dune buggy sim ;)
F1 2000 CS another dune buggy sim
F1RS nice looking back in 97, poor sound
MGPRS2 same but without real cars
ICR2 A sequel would be great :)
N2 gas, left, gas, left, gas........ <G>
N3 as above, but prettier
NL as above, but older cars
CPR NO COMMENT :(
MTM2 Fun, for about an hour
SCGT Never really got to like it.
NFS5 PU Fun for a couple of hours
Rally Masters Fun game, I'll probably reinstall this soon
GP500 I can't get the immersion factor trying to control bike
sims with a stick or wheel
The comments are my personal opinions, they are NOT to be taken as the only
valid opinions and can change like the weather :)

2) Sitting around in boxes:
CART Precision Racing (got with wheel, and - gasp - I actually quite
like it on the ovals)
Colin McRae 1
GP2 + various addon CDs (Perfect Grand Prix etc)
GPL (2 extra copies)
International Rally Championship (ugh)
Monster Trucks 2 (got with wheel - find it boring)
Network Q RAC Rally Championship (still fun)
Outlaw Racers (straight-to-budget cheapo GTA/Carmageddon wannabe.
Actually not bad for a blast).
Rally Championship (= Mobil 1, RC2000, etc)
Speed Haste (bad-shareware-standard stock-car game that's actually

TOCA 1
World Wide Rally (bad-shareware-standard Spanish game that isn't any

3) Used to have but gave away, got rid of etc:

4) Game most likely to buy next:
Viper Racing (probably in that UK budget 4-pack with Nascar 2,
Powerslide and Grand Touring)
5) Game least likely to buy next:

Okay, here's my eclectic little mix of driving/racing sims in no pariticular
order other than how they appear in my "Start/Programs" menu:
F1 2000: two weeks ago it was $8.99 (cdn.) at Walmart so I had to try it.
CART add-on convinced me
NFS - Porsche 2000: this is still a great diversion.
N3: Only still on my system because my brothers system can't handle N4 and
we still race each other.
N4: I use this one half as much as GPL.
GPL: of course! Used by far most frequently... although I am still pathetic
at a lot of the tracks.
Shelfware includes:
TOCA2
SCGT
N1: plus the add-on track pack.
N2: plus the add-on tracks.
ICR: with all the add-on packs available from Papy.
ICR2
N Heat: I am thinking of reinstalling this one to try the CART Heat patch.
GP2
GP3: I'm still feeling ripped off by this one and it's why I waited 'til
F1-2K was so cheap.
Wow, add all the cash up that is devoted to sim racing and I don't think it
would be a good idea to let slip to the wife about the total. Throw in the
cost of the system upgrades and cost of the TSW (and upgrades to it) and
it's not an insignificant amount.

Yeah, I think MBTR might be worth the purchase from what I've heard... I've
also toyed with getting CMR2 but every time I pick up the package in the
store something tells me to wait 'til it drops a bit more in price. That's
the cheapo in me coming out. I have bucked up full fare for all the Papy
sims, though. I have rarely been disappointed... I mean, looking back N1
isn't much of a sim but at the time of release... I was highly impressed
with it. Then, along comes GPL and I haven't really been truely impressed by
anything since. N4 came close... but damn! I want a CART sim sooooo bad!

I did have more on my previous computer:
Colin McRae Rally (1)
GP2
Some kind of bike sim (can't remember the name)
Ubisoft MGPRS2
Wipeout (does that count as a sim?) ;-)
Need for Speed (eeuch!)
Viper Racing
Motocross Madness
GPL (of course)
I did try to get CMR to run on the new machine (fun for the kids), but gave
up when it didn't work. It seems they are now only supporting CMR2
(surprise).
Basically I went through all the others until I found the nirvana of racing
sims.
Bit of a mistake for the game store to sell me GPL, as I haven't been back
