GPL- Problem with installing on new computer

Hello fellow GPL'rs. I have a problem I'm sure someone can help me with. I have a new computer that I'm trying to load GPL onto. I installed the game from the CD, ran patch 1, then patch 2, then the 3D patch. I then took my burned copy of GPL from my old computer and copied and pasted into the new box. I removed the "read only" attributes from all files. I don't have my wheel hooked up yet but when I start GPL it looks great but the frame rate is 1 to 2 fps! New computer is P4 1.5Mhz, Asus P4Tmobo, 256 Mgs ram, Elsa Geforce2 Ultra. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help. -- Alastair Ingram www.saxlessons.com

Does your new system have the same video card as the old one? Make sure the new install actually *sees* the 3D card. It sounds like it's running in software mode... Thanks Phil and Eldred. I installed the fast CPU patch and that was it! I thought it only worked on 1.7's and above. Phew! I was worried there for a minute. Thank you so much, Alastair. "A.
