Hi,
I have some problems with the sound in GPL.
I notice a annoying frame rate hit with "advanced" sound cards
on my system.
I am able to run with 1024x768 with all details on, 36 FPS.
Suddenly the system freezes for a fraction of a second. Afterwards
it runs with 36 fps again. During that glitch, the framerate goes to
about 10-20 fps. This happens with special sound effects.
Also the replay is stuttering almost all the time. Also sound effects
are involved. I noticed it with the Soundblaster Live and the Terratec
DMX Fire 1024. With the SB16 PCI the framerate is between 32
and 36 FPS with no glitches. No stuttering of the replay with the
SB16. Glitches decrease with the DMX Fire 1024 if all sound hardware
acceleration switched off!
I tried almost everything: Via patches, Bios tweaking.
Does anybody has a similar configuration working without the stuttering?
