Anyone managed to succesfully play CMR2 over a network? Tried this afternoon to set it up via TCP/IP with a friend but no success. Symptoms: He could see the game I was hosting. When he went to join the game, my machine hung for about 30 sec (on-screen clock stopped). Very briefly he appears in the waiting room and then disappears (in less than a second) My machine then works again, but information we type in in the chat window does not appear on the others machine. We can both rally, but no information is passed between the two and the times of the other player are not shown. Is it really this bad? Or am I missing something? Best regards, Jon.
After much messing around traced the problem to having different versions of DirectX (one machine had 7, the other 8). With both running 8, it seems to run fine, if a little jerky at times!
