Help -- Does DTR Sprint Cars run on Windows 2000?

Hi all: I'm new to this group, and I'm sure this question has been asked before. But here goes. Does Dirt Track Racing Sprint Cars work with Windows 2000? I tried to run the game on my IBM ThinkPad -- Pentium III 750 mHZ, 128MB RAM, 8MB VRAM with S3 Savage/IX video -- and it continually locks up during races. The game only works with software rendering in Windows 2000, as nothing happens when I try other settings. Has anyone had any luck getting this great game to run with Windows 2000? Please let me know your tips and secrets, replying in here. Thanks! Paul Kelly

P.S.: I've also tried to run the game at resolutions as low as 512 x 384, and it still locks after awhile. Thanks! Paul Kelly
