GPL should come with a warning label:
WARNING: Installing and playing this game could result in muscle fatigue
from inability to seperate yourself from your computer. It may also cause
lack of sleep and problems with the quality of your family life.
I know that GPL has sure taken over MY life. I'm curious if it has caused
any relationships to fall apart. I know mine has come close a few times
when the wife has gotten in the way of some good quality practice time.
Anyone else?

Nah, I got rid of my ex fiancee' long before GPL rolled around (pun
intended). Seems that after she left I was left with alot more time & $
to feed my sim addiction. But you're right. If more and more people get
addicted to racing sims, we may have open a Henry Ford clinic...similiar
to the Betty Ford clinic but for sim addicts. :-)

well its funny I have been divorced for 4 yrs...I dont miss "the look" I
used to get from being on the computer "all the time"....that was during the
initital Nascar3 days...since I have been unattached I have discovered the
joys of guiltfree simming, and its also good on the budget for us shafted
divorced men that cant afford "real" entertainment because half of our
paycheck goes to support the ex's "needs".....of course there have been the
occasional girlfriends in that period that just didn't get it as
well.....they are no longer around either :)

Well, my ex actually respected my need to simrace, as long as I
respected her to do something as nutty at hillclimb. Sadly, other
matters didn't quite work out.
Hell, even my friends respect my need to simrace, I actually managed
to convince them that GPL league play is as serious as any other
amateur sport. And got ovations when I told I got 5th of 15 when I was
late for a birthday party to race the last race of the season. :)

Ooh, another member of the Divorced Guys Club. I actually did manage to find
a wonderful woman who doesn't share my passion for motorsports/simracing but
she has also never given me "the look" either (at least when it comes to
those topics anyways).

Robin

I'd really love to drive the 'Ring for real one day - I just hope I
won't get
overconfident and then find the one corner that's different...
Having said that, I drove the Spa Old Circuit last weekend between Les
Combes and Blanchimont (the New Circuit was in use) and managed
to keep to the speed limit - mostly... ;-)

There's only one I noticed, but it's a biggie. The kink from Fuchsrohre into
Adenauer Forst is different... it's been moved back and the changes in
gradient smoothed out from the looks of things. It's still flat in all but
the very fastest cars I should imagine, but the difference is there's not as
much real estate left before the chicane once it flattens out as in the
game. So if you leave your braking until you're no longer looking at the
treeline/sky you're gonna be eating gravel at the very least. Provided you
get your car up to 100mph on the downhill section before the kink, of
course.
