This one is driving both me and my son NUTS! With my v.90 modem I average about 44k connect speeds and have never had any problem getting a good number of "GREEN" VROC GPL races. My son recently moved into an apartment complex. He is getting consistent 48k connect speeds with his v.90 modem (GREAT) but he cannot get ANY "green" races with VROC. Even when we are on VROC at the same time every "Green Race" I see is Red on his machine. We have had his whole system hooked up at my house and everything works fine. From my house with his system and his ISP he gets the same 44k connect speeds I get with my system and my ISP and there are lots of "Green Races" so we know his trouble is NOT with his modem, his system or his ISP as these all work fine from my house. But when he gets home and tries it it's back to Zero Green Races even with the FASTER connect speed of 48K Broadband (cable, etc.) is not an option. Can anyone here advise on what is wrong and what (if anything) can be done about this? Any Help would be MUCH appreciated
Must be the line quality. Try forcing the modem to 28K or even 19K to get more stable transmissions. This is still enough to join races on Vroc. Joe L wrote in message <[email hidden]>... > This one is driving both me and my son NUTS!<SNIP> If you have all red races and it says GPL 0.0.0.0 in the bottom status bar in WinVroc, hit control+o and navigate the path to your GPL folder. Even if the path looks correct, use the browse button on the right to navigate to the GPL folder, then restart WinVroc. You should now have green races. Lol SpeedFreek

Ignore this, I didn't read your original post properly... :( Bart sounds like he's on the right track... Lol SF.
The red boxes are not bad connection speeds, but a vroc fix you need to apply. once you get the fix, which available at the vroc site, you will then see red races for those events that you don't have a track for. Green is for races you can join. Blue is a passworded race..and orange is one that is getting ready to start(I think) The vroc fix can also be done manually. you should have in your vroc\winvroc folder a file called vroc.ini this is what should be in it... [VROC] Address=216.7.136.5 save it as vroc.ini and then restart vroc. you will probably have to go through the options again...i.e. tell vroc where your gpl install is, your racing name etc... dave henrie "Joe L" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > This one is driving both me and my son NUTS! > With my v.90 modem I average about 44k connect speeds and havenever > had any problem getting a good number of "GREEN" VROC GPL races. The son is out of town for a few days so we cannot try these out as yet but we now have some possible solutions. THANKS GUYS!!
