Celebrating a first sub-1:30 GPL lap at Monza
Sean Long celebrated his first lap under 1:30 at Monza in GPL. Others congratulated him and debated where the 'alien' threshold lies, suggesting around 1:28.5 or the mid 1:27s. Many shared how long it took them to reach the same mark.

:-) Welcome to the "quite fast normal people's club". This consists
:of anyone faster than 1:30, but stops at 1:28.58, cause anyone
:faster than that has to be an alien (or a railrider).

I have done 1:28.35 and I am by no means an alien or a railrider. I consider
mid-27 the alien cutoff at Monza. (And I'll never get there...)

I'm in the mid 28, I concur, making mid 29 is quite "easy" now", makinq high
28 requires concentration, making high 27 is unreachable.

Congratulations! I remember the feeling, it's great! I hit 1:29:15 ONCE!!
Only once...... It's killing me, I haven't really been running Monza much,
but I did hit a time close to that in a race ONCE!!.....only once..... It is
such a bitch to be that close to the sub 1:29, it hurts....

Now you can start down the road to a sub 29. Let me assure you, that road is
twice as long....
Wait a minute, now that I think about it, I don't have any idea how long
that road is.
Well, good luck, anyway!
