OT: RASCAR WTF????

Flame warMitch_A versus David G Fisher over RASCAR and rFactor

Mitch_A complained that RASCAR had rejected his push to switch to GTR earlier in the year but was now moving to rFactor. He accused David G Fisher of changing the rules, and announced his own 'Real RAS-Factor' server. Fisher called his claims lies, Neil Charlton and others said decisions had been made collectively, and the thread became a bitter exchange with political insults. Tony Rickard tried to lighten it with a mock poll.

Let me get this straight. 6 months or so ago I tried to rejuvenate RASCAR's falling attendance by changing from NR2003 to GTR (even the rFactor test woulda worked, anything but Nr2003). I was quickly rebuffed and told RASCAR is a Nascar only series (which really pissed me off cause it was never meant to be Nascar only, right?). At this point I figured Id just wait and see what was going to happen with NSR. We all know how that worked out eh. Anyway I told the few remaining drivers that such an idea was doomed to fail and sooner rather than later. Obviously that happened just as I foresaw it would as RASCAR dried up soon afterwards. Beyond all of that we had Fredrickson showing up every week just to wreck me. I tried to have him banned but being he's one of DGFs leftwing activist nutjob buddies I was told he wouldnt be removed. Based on Freddys (Reggie Whites, Larry Bakesmith) posts here on RAS can anyone honestly say him wrecking me two weeks in a row wasnt intentional??? So here we are in the present and I noticed Tony was trying to pull the original RASCAR back together and he called it RAS-Factor. I took it a few steps further and setup a site and a server for everyone's use (RAS-Factor). Not long after I announced this JLe comes a crying about how RASCAR was in hiatus and was switching to rFActor and that I was stealing RASCAR rules blah blah blah. I was quite surprised by this fact seeing how I was told not long ago RASCAR was Nascar only. Now I see our DGF has revived RASCAR using rFactor as the sim but he has decided that Im no longer welcome, why? Because I saw DGF leading RASCAR into failure and fought to prevent it form happening? Because I voted against Kerry? Because I hate ponytail wearing activist asswipes? I sure cant think of any other reason. As I said long ago Nr2003 was great in its time but its time has passed. Thats a reason? Im surprised but based on his past record with RASCAR I can clearly see his motives in hindsight (eh Simmons). He wanted it all from the git go and now has it and is excluding anyone he deems should be excluded, with or without merit. This goes completely against the RASCAR charter. My last RASCAR experience was a truly disappointing. I was told in so many words that DGF runs RASCAR now and makes the rules weekly, on the fly. I show up expecting to run our normal fixed setup race and all of a sudden were running Coorsmans wife's, sisters, boyfriends setup and Im fucked along with anyone else that didn't get word. Needless to say I wasnt going to go through this crap weekly and I saw the writing on the wall anyway. Im going to leave the rAS-fACTORserver up and will run Saturday races (along with a few weeknight (tues/thurs) TT shootouts). Hopefully the original RASCAR racers will see through the DGF bullshit and come race where inclusion is the rule not the exception. If not rFactor has some very good drivers in the lobby waiting for a good race anyway. Give someone an inch and they take a mile. Typical liberal... As the World Turns ;) Mitch

My post was to see if there was any interest in the group rather than stir up personal issues or create another group. However, whether RASFactor is made up of ex RASCAR members or not is pretty immaterial IMHO. I am sure there are enough interested RAS members to support two race slots providing the racing experiences are good enough. The important thing is Mitch has made a considerable effort to put this together very quickly and provide us with a place to join up. It is clear that we don't all get along quite as famously as we would like but this is somewhat typical of life in general. Continuing the groups traditional Monty Python references it reminds me of the Peoples Front of Judea and the Judeans Peoples Front (splitters!) :) I would not like to see any variance between the two groups determined as remotely political. I have always liked the idea of a racing club for RAS members - not necessarily a series requiring total commitment to attend but somewhere to join up with the guys we regularly converse with when the time is convenient. I've no desire to spectate whilst some guys decide to have a slanging match or wreck each other week in week out so having two series may be the simplest answer to spread them apart. It doesn't mean anyone else has to take sides. There is plenty of scope for RASFactor and RASCAR providing for different needs even assuming both use rFactor. For example one group may go for open wheelers whilst the other for tin tops, ovals/road courses etc. The daft thing would be for them to compete against each other at the same time or demand exclusivity of membership. Imagine the membership entry criteria: "Listen. If you really wanted to join RASFactor, you'd have to really hate RASCAR." "I do!" "Oh, yeah? How much?" "A lot!" "Right. You're in" Tony
A voice of reason emerges once again, Tony :) Really wasnt much effort on my part though. Had I known RASCAR was even slightly interested in rFactor I wouldnt have done a thing or even mentioned it. I blame you LOL. My point was that DGF continues to make up the rules as he goes along, ignoring anyone he disagrees with. Sound at all familiar?. Sadly I fell for his con-man bullshit along the way as he slowly took over complete control of RASCAR right under my nose, and I was just naive enough not to see it happening (he must have read Fidel Castro's book, and Im not surprised). I just never figured he'd pull that shit again, let alone to me. Rascar is Nascar only, until dgf decides otherwise is what I should have been told 6 months ago. I dare anyone in RASCAR to tell me different. Doesnt matter, Ill just let her run and have some fun! http://ras-factor.servebeer.com/ras-factor Mitch "Tony Rickard" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:VCDWe.109825$[email hidden]...

Hi Mitch, I'm probably going to regret prolonging this but I think you're being a little unfair here. RASCAR under the recent regime has been absolutely consultative, even down to the setups used. We gave NSR a try and collectively decided it wasn't for us. You suggested GTR and we collectively decided it wasn't for us either. You chose not to race the NASCAR races and that's fine but it isn't fair to suggest that Dave 'told' us we had to race NASCAR - we decided that GTR wasn't for us. We plodded on for a bit and eventually decided, as a group, we'd park it until rFactor was out. As agreed, we're now giving that a shot and, who knows, maybe that won't be for us either (although I must admit the open wheelers are a blast and the net code is good). You can follow all these discussions on the RASCAR forum and there's absolutely no antagonism or ill-feeling anywhere. There are discussions about the future direction and a consensus can be seen to emerge. The fact is, I don't recall Dave ever trying to impose his will on anyone. The atmosphere in RASCAR in the least season was fantastic. Numbers dropped but a great, relaxed time was had by all. It just seems a shame such a great group of people seem intent on ripping themselves apart at regular intervals. I had no real problems with John, and none with you or Dave and I'm buggered if I can see why egos keep getting in the way. As you'd left the group, it's entirely understandable that you wouldn't have seen the discussion to wait for rFactor and I for one appreciate your efforts to get something going. As we all appear to be on the same wavelength now why not race with us again. Tony has it right - it would just be good to have a place for ras guys to race in a nice atmosphere and no pressure. Mitch's post is full of lies. Don't care what he does or where he races. We will be going ahead with our plans that we made in June (as can be read on forum). When you suggested on the 4th that we should get something started, I was the first to reply, I agreed, and I said, "that's what we had planned." Don't know how a certain someone could of read my post and then come out later and claimed they had no idea we were going to be using rFactor. -- David G Fisher

Come on, lad, turn the other cheek.

Well there is plenty to try out on forming a series with rFactor and a number of directions we can take be it strategic Nascar style long races with saloons or short Formula Ford sprints to take two extremes. Having a couple of servers available at different times running different formats should only be a good thing IMHO. Draw a line under past differences and move on. I can't see anyone proving anything to anyone otherwise. Cheers Tony

I never said DGF decided RASCAR was Nascar only. It was a group decision, I dont exactly recall who was saying that but I do remember numerous people agreeing (Larry and Coorsman come to mind). I very much disagreed and argued for my 2 cents worth but that was the extent of it. Did I make a big stink back then? The next week I showed up for a race and all of a sudden were using some crazy setup from Coorsmans friend or something. How could this be, I thought to myself. Since when does RASCAR change to a CUSTOM setup just a day or two prior to the race?? Never. All of a sudden without my consent were changing the rules and my complaints were completely ignored. And I mean COMPLETELY. So complete that most of you probably don't even remember because I didnt make a huge deal about it. Then along comes ole Freddy wrecking me 2 races in a row all the while spewing his nonsense here on RAS but you all cant even get together to give the sad little shit a warning let alone ban him as he should have been. Again my complaints totally ignored. Then all of a sudden the Server admin wasnt sending me any email or giving me the normal server updates. Ive always wondered why considering I was the main point of contact and set the entire deal up to begin with... Just another notch to make me wonder wtf DGF was up too. The last time I was at the RASCAR site the last update was 3/05 and the RSC forum was gone so as far as I was concerned RASCAR as an entity was gone (and being how most of the drivers wanted a Nascar only series and we dont have a decent Nascar sim I put 2 and 2 together but came out with 5). Can you tell me why any of that happened? Ive sure wondered and havent any conclusion except what Ive outlined in these threads. What exactly did I do and when to invite this issue? I didnt really leave RASCAR with my ball as much as I went to Racemore to run GTR, very quietly if you ask me considering my investment. I saw the writing on the wall for what was going to happen in RASCAR but rather than keep it all going running GTR (even with fewer drivers) yall were willing to just let it dry up which distressed me ;) One thing about it, we may have yelled a lot but most really enjoyed the racing. Thats my point Art. If he's going to respond over and over in this way why not act (keyword) like an adult. Obviously he has a different perspective of what took place than I do. mcewena wrote: > Cause maybe they don't want to get dragged into a pointless no-win > arguement? > > Just a theory ;) Interesting thought. Maybe we should have a little poll: Please select one of the following: 1/ DGF is an all round fine guy. Well ok he may be a bit of a leftie, oh and a veggie, not that there is anything wrong with that you understand, and he thinks Ralf Schumacher is the next messiah and he is a bit of an argumentative git who always has to have the last word, but apart from all that he is my man. 2/ Mitch is an all round fine guy. Well ok he may be a shade right wing and a little intolerant of "POS f***g liberals", reminding me of the Kenny Everett character who said of commies "Round 'em up, put 'em in a field, and BOMB THE BASTARDS!" Sure he is a bit of an argumentative git who always has to have the last word, but apart from all that he is my man. 3/ DGF & Mitch should duel it out in one off winner takes all race. The rules are simple. Both are supplied with sledge, a Yorkshire Terrier, a bar of Kendle mint cake, a couple of tennis rackets, some woolly undies and a compass. First to the north pole is the categoric winner of this argument, period. A web site will track progress for keen RAS members to follow every few weeks or so (unless there is more pressing news like another public warning on RSC). Should the worst happen we can always run a RASCAR memorial race which would be a nice gesture.

No, they don't teach that in Kindergarten. They only do the really simple things like learn how to start sentences with capitals at that age...
Amazing that you ve kept this nonsense up for two weeks while I've basically ignored you. I know that a nasty public spat with you (which is what you obviously want very badly) is not what the RASCAR members want to see. You spew lies, insults and vulgarities towards myself and others, and I really don't want anything to do with you anymore. This is the second time you've made these accusations towards me in public (first time was last February). I ignored you during that time, I've ignored you COMPLETELY since then, and I've tried to ignore you these past two weeks. I'm going to reply now though to settle this once and for all, and then IGNORE you again. Sorry, you ARE NOT going to get your wish (and needed attention apparently) and drag this on any further with my help. I apologize to the other RASCAR drivers, but two weeks of been disparaged with lies, insults and vulgarities is enough. Read Mitch's comments towards me in this thread, and I think you'll understand. It's impossible to reason with anyone who makes nonsensical statements in this thread to Tony like, "Rascar is Nascar only, until dgf decides otherwise is what I should have been told 6 months ago. I dare anyone in RASCAR to tell me different." Neil then tells you different, and you reply to him, "I never said DGF decided RASCAR was Nascar only." No RASCAR drivers have told you that your accusations are wrong? READ NEIL'S REPLY TO YOU IN THIS THREAD. Couldn't be more clear. Read it slowly if it doesn't sink in. As for your accusations and lies in the post that started this thread, I'll take it paragraph by paragraph.

You were never told that RASCAR was a NASCAR only series by either myself or the group. The FORUM LINKED FROM THE RASCAR HOME PAGE PROVES THIS. You dropped in last February for about a week and then left again. It's all there in the FORUM. Dates, posts, everything. > Anyway I told the few remaining drivers that such an idea was doomed to > fail > and sooner rather than later. Obviously that happened just as I foresaw > it > would as RASCAR dried up soon afterwards. We had about 12 -14 drivers in February when you popped in and ranted about switching to GTR, and RASCAR did not "dry up" soon afterwards, we continued to race for another four months. That's what the drivers who were regulars decided they wanted to do. Attendance slowly dropped (as we expected, and as was happening with other N2003 based leagues), but we knew rFactor was coming eventually and so we made plans for the near future. The web site proves this. > Beyond all of that we had Fredrickson showing up every week just to wreck > me. I tried to have him banned but being he's one of DGFs leftwing > activist > nutjob buddies I was told he wouldnt be removed. Based on Freddys (Reggie > Whites, Larry Bakesmith) posts here on RAS can anyone honestly say him > wrecking me two weeks in a row wasnt intentional??? Frederickson did not show up every week just to wreck you. Looking through the 2005 stats, I can't find either one of you listed as racing in the 2005 season! You raced once out of the 10 winter series races previous to that. He didn't race at all in the winter series. I do remember you claiming he intentionally wrecked you after an on track incident. Must have been an off week race early in the 2005 season which are not kept in the stats. You never even bothered to post a replay to the forum and ask the group to take a look at it. I DO NOT RUN RASCAR ALL BY MYSELF (as you claim), so I was not in a position to ban him all by myself based on the word of one member. It was up to YOU to provide the replay, state your case, and ask the group to look at the video and make a decision. The web site and forum PROVE what I've just stated.

I never said I wanted you excluded from RASCAR. No RASCAR drivers have ever heard or read anything from me that says I want you excluded from racing in RASCAR if you were to appear and race with us again. NO ONE has ever been banned. I do not have "it all" (READ NEIL'S REPLY TO YOU----READ THE FORUM). Would I personally welcome you back? Not a chance in he** after the way you behaved last February and the past two weeks. > My last RASCAR experience was a truly disappointing. I was told in so > many > words that DGF runs RASCAR now and makes the rules weekly, on the fly. Complete lie. NO ONE ever told you that I run RASCAR, or that I make the rules on the fly (either directly or in so many words). It is run by committee. Some of us have administration duties. THE FORUM PROVES THIS. Neil and Larry's replies to you in this thread prove this. > I show up expecting to run our normal fixed setup race and all of a sudden > were running Coorsmans wife's, sisters, boyfriends setup and Im fucked > along > with anyone else that didn't get word. You "show up" after little to no participation for a long period of time, don't read the forum, don't find things the way you want, and then complain. The GROUP decided to try the setups provided from Ullrich Kratochwil at www.setup-guru.com It was all in the FORUM. It was VOTED ON by the group. It WASN'T even my suggestion. I had one vote.

RASCAR has had zero arguements over the past year among it's members. Neil mentioned this in his reply to you. The only time there was a problem is when YOU appeared last February and stirred things up. Since then, not a single problem whatsoever. Now, once again, Mitch is trying to invent issues for us. Again, READ NEIL'S REPLY to you in this thread. Let it sink in. Vulgarities? LOL... Hell if you call that vulgarity you had better log off the net forever and join your buddy Y2krick in that bunker. > > It's impossible to reason with anyone who makes nonsensical statements in > this thread to Tony like, "Rascar is Nascar only, until dgf decides > otherwise is what I should have been told 6 months ago. Maybe not in SO many words but YOU along with others made it clear you had no intention of switching from Nr2003 into the foreseeable future (and yes I was pissed). As Ive said many times already I knew what this choice would do to RASCAR and YOU ignored my warning just as you say. Well RASCAR ended up exactly where I knew it would, not running. Call it hiatus if ya want but all that time a few of us could have been enjoying GTR and learnig its online idiosycracies while still racing on Sats. Oh no, cant have that, all ISI stuff sucks........ (before you get all anal again thats more sarcasm)

Ya know WHY I didnt have any replays? Because I had to leave before I went off on his POS sad sack ass.... We were on TS so I pulled the plug before I said stuff Id regret. Again you take the word of that little asswipe over me which proves my point again.. Dont you read RAS anymore? Reggie White ring a bell? I had one hell of a time controllling my temper the 2nd time it happened but you could care less while you just ignored me. Chicago then Kansas or vica versa.

Uh, I had a personal issue to deal with and I wasnt even around by that point..... My last RASCAR race after you took over completely I showed up to race and find out were running some crazy setup that I never even heard of let alone dl and practice with. That was the last straw for me and I left without another word till Ras-Factor became something.

Sheeeesh, grow up already.... Better yet just go back to ignoring me, k....
So, I've lurked her for 10+ years. This CRAP is one of the reasons I only lurk. I'd rather hang out with John Simmons than these two. At least ya know where ya stand. Phil On Wed, 21 Sep 2005 00:15:00 +0200, Goy Larsen <[email hidden]> wrote:

In some ways, Nascar needs to crack down. In others, it is too thinned skinned. Tony Stewart said it better than anyone in this weekends post race. Nascar has become a weenie (my words). They used to let drivers 'take care' of this stuff in the pits when the race was over. Now they don't, and guys take it out on the track (his words). It's gonna get taken care of. That will never stop. I don't think I'd want to watch any more if it did. Nascar is already infested with way-annoying marketers with smiley faces (i.e. Kurt Busch/Jimmie Johnson). I'm not saying they aren't good drivers, I just can't stand to watch them and their phony, smiley faces in interviews. Kurt Busch especially annoys me, and defies the old saying that you can't polish a &%^#. At least on the surface. -Larry "Mitch_A" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:AXWXe.1260$[email hidden]...

I thought it had finally died, lets hope we get way with it and they don't spot it :) Cheers Tony
Don't worry, I see it all ;) I'm going to just keep "The Real" RAS-Factor up indefinitely. Best group of Pickup racers Ive seen since the early years of Vroc. All it takes is a couple guys in a race and the server fills up quick. This sure isnt the Sierra pickup scene that's for sure! Respect and courtesy are the norm and I havent had to so much as warn anyone about anything.
