G'day fellow simmers. I uploaded my photo's from the Australian Grand Prix back in March, but was very low on server space so I've now enlarged most of the files and moved 'em to a new server. Here's the new link for anyone still interested. http://www.users.tpg.com.au/gplracer/ Cheers Phil
Which stand were you in? I want to go next year, but can't decide between the Prost or Brabbham Stands?? My pick for turns one and two would be towards the turn two end of the Brabham stand, and up a bit higher in the stand as well. This would give ya a great extended view from the final run down pit straight, perfect position for one and two plus the run towards turn three. The Prost stand also offers great views of turns 15 and 16 plus entry into pit lane, but at slower speeds than the first two corners. Cheers Phil
Really? I was in the Brabham a while back, and didn't like it much. I thought the Jones was better, toward the turn 1 end. This allowed a nice view up the pit straight for any moves, plus the all important start line. Best seat in the house for action has to be the Clark stand at turns 9 and 10. Great spot to watch all the action, but a bit isolated on the other side of the track. Rafe Mc On Wed, 1 Aug 2001 19:05:14 +1000, "Phil Abel" <[email hidden]> wrote:

I was in the Clark stand and it was a top spot, considering it was cheaper-mid priced. It was isolated (from the main straight) but it was no more than 10 mins walk straight across to behind the pit area. If you havent been before, make sure you walk around as much of the track during a practice session as you can (ie Friday), as there are some really good general admissions spots to watch the action, while there arent as many people there on the Friday as the weekend. A few years ago I had perhaps the best Brabham stand seats... right on the extreme turn 1 end, so that I could look over my left shoulder at the cars coming down the straight as well as the view through the first 2 turns. I dont think you'd be able to see down the straight at all from the seats you mention.
Yep, I was there the previous couple of years in general admission, only problem being that you can't see the screen (unless you turn up at 6 am) Bought stand tickets for 2001, we spent a day wandering the track and scamming our way into all the stands to check them out, take some photos, etc. Only way to work out which is best really. Only 2 stands worth paying for are Clark and Jones, and maybe Prost at the final turn. But the action at Clark is the best for sure. Couldn't justify the mega bucks for Jones tho. Now if only they were able to get a stand and screen at the mighty turn 3... Rafe Mc On Thu, 02 Aug 2001 08:33:52 GMT, "Matt" <[email hidden]> wrote:
