I remember (I was 4 years old at the time) that they car looked really wierd during service, with its doors open, the engine cover and the front sticking right up. I can't remember seeing the car actually in action. The only thing that remains vivid is that service area thing. I wish I could remember seeing it going flat out through a fast turn, not sideways, cause the car apparently had a very high amount of downforce for that time. My father always tells about it, that he could here a sound as the lifted the car off the ground, as tough it was glued to the ground > 5) Renault Alpine A110 1600S This is a like a dream coming true. Riding with the alpine, the car I had the chance to "co-drive" as an 5-year old. I can still smell the oil and fuel from that car... It had special scent which I will never forget. And it made a lot of noise. At he moment it is one of those cars I wish I could own one day.....

I just hope that the majority of these cars will be available from the start. I hate re-playing the game just to get all those bonus cars. Is there a demo scheduled ?? When ? When ?

You can give the Lancia Stratos a try in CMR2. Ok, it's probably not as much fun as it should be in RT but a fun car to drive non-the-less. No, the Lancia Fulvia Coupe 1.6 HF (bows head in respect to one of the prettiest little cars ever made) is also FWD, and I want one of those in real life, bad....:-) Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy "The Pits" http://www.theuspits.com/ * Spam is for losers who can't get business any other way * "Spamkiller" http://www.spamkiller.com

Excellent! Another person on the planet that appreciates the Lancia 1.6. Cheers indeed. Now if only someone would model a Zagato bodied ALFA GTZ........... Dav_Erb

David Erb wrote: > > Excellent! Another person on the planet that appreciates the Lancia 1.6. > Cheers indeed. Aye....:-); i've owned a couple of Lancia's myself, only the modern variety I'm afraid such as the Beta (not a bad car at al) and the Prisma (yuck), my dad owned 4 Beta's and Gamma All of these cars are more than meets the eye, IMNSHO, but they were still not part of Lancia's "Golden age", which to me culminated with the Fulvia HF and the narrow angled V4, pretty car, pretty engine :-) Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy <--Member nr 64 of the "Lancisti Norvegesi" :-) "The Pits" http://www.theuspits.com/ * Spam is for losers who can't get business any other way * "Spamkiller" http://www.spamkiller.com
Dave Henrie wrote: > > psssst Goy sir....you might mention to him...the decided lack of American > Muscle...hehehehe > We want to rallye with our ancient 429 Cobra's and 426 Hemi's.... Well, there's one American car that should rightly have been in there, the FORD Falcon Futura Sprint which Swede Bosse Ljunqvist did some series stage times with on the Rally Monte Carlo one year , maybe other years as well, and would indeed have won it had it not been for time penalties incurred between special stages So even though I hate to admit it, not only should there have been another FORD in there, but an American one to boot....what is the world coming too :-) Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy "The Pits" http://www.theuspits.com/ * Spam is for losers who can't get business any other way * "Spamkiller" http://www.spamkiller.com
Oh I know but the GTZ just so damn pretty I had to mention it. Saw one at a vintage road race once and fell in love. Besides I'm sure one of them turned a wheel on a dirt road somewhere, sometime right. I mean , if they can rally a spaceship like the Lancia Stratos....:) Dav_erb "Jan Verschueren" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

They are reasonably thick on the ground here in Switzerland, and in remarkable condition (as you would expect something owned and maintained by a Swiss person). No soggy UK rustbuckets with inch thick filler. I tried a few of them last spring and was intoxicated by the sound and feel of the little V4, and the airy greenhouse, not to mention the sublime handling. But then like any rational potential classic owner I sniffed around a little and checked out the spare parts situation. Words like scarce, dismal, non-existent, how much money you have, or simply laughter were the answer. Sadly, I passed on the little Lancia charmer. Stephen p.s. in an issue of Classic Cars from last year is the story of a guy who bought a pristine Fulvia coupe for 1500 UKP (the going rate would be 8500) simply because the seller had no clue what he had!

<sigh> Oh well, that's the price I pay for living in Norway I suppose :-), I don't really care about the spare parts situation, the Lancia Club here in Norway seems to be remarkably good at finding those for even the most rare model it seems, and one of the "founding fathers" of the club, who happens to own one of the few garages in Norway specializing in Lancia's, owns a 1.6 HF uprated to group 2 specifications......schweeeeet, as someone else so eloquently put it :-) I'm envious of the fact that you've actually had a chance to drive one of these though, not to mention having had the chance to buy one.....you my friend are truly blessed Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy, member of the Lancisti Norvegesi "The Pits" http://www.theuspits.com/ * Spam is for losers who can't get business any other way * "Spamkiller" http://www.spamkiller.com
