CM2-Occasional Black Screen

Occasionally while driving in Colin McCrae 2 the screen will go black for 1 second and then reappear. I have no idea why! Any help appreciated. I have an Athlon 1.4, with 512 mb ram, Hercules Geforce 2Ultra (64mb) (tried assortment of drivers - Detonator 12.41,12.90, 14.10 and 14.40), Microsoft FF wheel and SB Live card. PJ

Have you ever tried turning off v-sysnc in the D3D desktop properties? You need to download Coolbits so you get that option in the D3D properties, it's already there for OpenGL. Some people get flashing problems on Geforce cards if they don't trun off vsysnc.
