...when you have RACER to mess around with? :)
I'm being facetious, of course, but RACER with
the Porsche GT3 996 and the BRNO track is
killer!!!!
What is this BRNO track, anyway? Is it
based on a real track? The F1 Sauber car
runs really well there too. The F1 2000
tracks run really slow at some points, but
BRNO is smooth as glass, and looks great too.
I continue to be amazed at the force feedback
in RACER. It's the most subtle thing I've felt
on my ACT Labs wheel so far.
When do we get an update? :)
Flame warRacer's Brno track, derailed by a DGF spat
Pat Dotson praised Racer with the Porsche GT3 on the Brno track. David G Fisher replied 'You're an ass', which he later said was copied from Dotson's own post in another thread. The resulting row of insults drowned out the Racer discussion.

Brno is a town and track in the Czech Republic. I'm more familiar with the
motorcycle races there, but I'm sure there are other events there too.
Here's some info from the Speedvision link at

Circuit: Autodrom Brno

There's a map and more info
at:http://www.silhouet.com/motorsport/tracks/brno.html
Track length: 3.352 miles
Originally an 18.109 mile road circuit, the old pits and barriers of which
can still be seen, Brno is now a more bland purpose built motorsport complex
built to attract modern formula racing. The first alterations to the
original circuit came in 1949, when a connecting road from Zebetin to
Popuvky was built, reducing the length to 11.061 miles, and just to confuse
everyone, the racing direction was changed from anti-clockwise to clockwise.
In 1964, a link road bypassing Zebetin was used, reducing the length to
8.663 miles, followed by a further shortening to 6.789 miles in 1975 when a
new road was built to link the start to Kohoutovice. This circuit was still
used by the European Touring Car Championship until the new Automotodrom was
built in 1986, and first opened in 1987.
Thanks for the links! That's a really fun track. I wish
all the others had the frame rates that this one does.

Has anyone else noticed that the "turn into the
turn to save a spin" phenomemon works in RACER,
just like it does in almost any other sim?
Either the effect is accurate, which I think is
probably the case, or the accepted tire modelling
methods used today are extremely inaccurate.
I think the effect is probably accurate, but
impractical to use in real life because of the
increased steering input force required.

I tried Racer and I can not get it worth driving.
I am using a TM Pro Digital 2 and even with the car going at 30mph I can not
help but spin the car.
It is possible I am using the wrong input selection.
Anyone else out there with the TM Pro Digital 2 that is doing ok in this
game? If so, what input are you using?
Thanks

Funny how guys like you completely ignored the other 99% of the original
statement which contained the word "privileged". No comments on the main
point at all. No, better to harp on the irrelevent. Guess you needed your
daily Jerry Springer debate.
The average person doesn't have a clue what life is like for most people on
this planet. The average person has little knowledge of history.
Try not to be average.
BTW, even an average person should understand that a child who receives
sponsorship for their racing career beginning at age 5 isn't exactly living
the hard life.

Why not carry on that particular debate in the thread it started in? You've
ruined this thread for nothing.

Whoops!
DGF must have changed e-mail address or something, or there might be
something wrong with my killfilter, 'cause I put him there long time ago.
Anyhow. DGF goes in my killfilter once again.

Oh, I don't know about wasted, any opportunity to increase the signal/noise
ratio on usenet can't be a bad thing, and I'm sure a few like myself have
killfiled DGF.
And he carried this argument from another thread? so *thats* what all this
ruckus was about, moronic schoolboy behaviour, MHO.
Vennt.
I stand corrected!
It's a shame all this nonsense drowned out all discussion
of RACER.

Well, David was right about at least two things. I do
need to get laid, but my wife isn't convinced. I'm
also a little gassy.
