Hi all,
Just re-installed Win98SE on my PC after trying out WinME for a while
and am having some real problems getting the system to recognise my
MSFF steering wheel. The game controller applet insists on installing
it as a Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad!! Even if I remove it and select
the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel option it still changes
it back to the gamepad!
On a couple of occassions I have got it to recognise it as the wheel
but then if I click on the properties button it gives a message about
not being able to initialise the force feedback. Then if I exit and go
back in it has reverted to the gamepad again.
This is driving me nuts!!!
I am using the latest Sidewinder software and DirectX 8.0a.
Athlon 1.2ghz, 512mb RAM, V5 5500 AGP.
Any help appreciated, been un-simmed for some time now and getting
very frustrated :O(
