When will EA's F1 2001 reach stores?
Posters traded conflicting release dates for EA's F1 2001 on PC, ranging from October 2 to October 10 depending on retailer. Some hoped for good physics and built-in multiplayer while Douglas Ellison expected little. By October 6 EA's site listed a worldwide release on the 5th, but several US stores still had no stock.

I thought they were building multiplayer into the sim so you didn't need
to use F1rst to hook up with other users. Am I wrong?

There was a very promising preview which I critisiced - then got a flameing
for doing so.
Perhaps EA will suprise us - but frankly - I dont expect much

just slightly faster than the GF3 with it's newest drivers. However they
were pretty leary of ATI's drivers so they weren't cheerleading too much.

I also went out looking for it today and could not find in anywhere (Ann
Arbor, MI). Our EB said they had it on their list but had no other
details. Best Buy said that they were showing a release date of the 5th
but that shipping of all of their products has been delayed lately by
the transportation and security problems we are having in the US. So it
looks like that's another one we can blame on Osama. :o( Most of the
stores expected that it would not take more than another week.
