I am going nuts here!
I have GP3 and I am getting lockups. But here is the wierd part: on only two
tracks.
The lockups occur when I try to drive at either Albert Park or Monaco. All
other tracks work fine. I was even able to run a full length race at
Interlagos without any problem.
When the track is first loaded, I see the series of starting grid lights as
the track is being loaded. After the last light is illuminated, thats when
the lockup occurs. I can never make it to the track to drive.
System Specifics:
Abit BX-133
Win98 4.10.2222 A
Voodoo 5500 AGP, driver v.4.12.01.0666 (not overclocked)
PIII-850Mhz. (not overclocked)
Logitech Wingman FF (non GP version)
(2) IBM 30GB HD, running in RAID1 mirroring
Logitech USB Mouse
Viewsonic PS790 Monitor
I have tried everything I can think of to get around this:
Changing video drivers
Deinstalling/Reinstalling the game
Removing the video card and cleaning the fans & heatsinks
Moving the Hardware Performance slider on the Voodoo driver to one step
below Full.
Changing the AA settings from Fastest Performance, to Single Chip, to 2x.
Installing the latest Win98 critical updates.
All to no avail.
Its just amazing to me that this is affecting these two tracks only.
I am stuck and would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Frank
