No, DON'T get 8.1. The only vers. currently avail. are late betas or, at best, RC1 (release candidate 1). Most have BIG problems; all have expiration dates, like milk, after which you're REALLY screwed. Plus, of course, you can't UNINSTALL DirectX builds, only update them (there IS a util that claims it can, but for me it only made an intolerable situation WORSE). You've been WARNED!
