Hi .. I've just played the game again with new sounds by HUDSON. Really cool. BTW, I've just found another 'BUG'/'SHORTCOMING' with regards to the game (not the sound): 1) When wheels lock up, which very rarely does no matter how hard I brake, why doesn't 'smoke' come out from under the tires? Furthermore, when the rear wheels lock up, we should be able to see the 'smoke' on the rear view mirrors. 2) I think it'd be cool to see gradual tire wear as we progress in the race. Just my two cents. FUJI

Furthermore, when the rear wheels lock up, we should be able to see the 'smoke' on the rear view mirrors. I lock mine up all the time and there is always some smoke. What graphic detail setting are you running? > > 2) I think it'd be cool to see gradual tire wear as we progress in therace. That would be cool, I guess that's how they will get us to by the next versions ;-) Murchman
Did he also make a new skidding sound (skid_road_dry_1) ? First, check your difficulty settings....you've to set brake/throttle assist to off by yourself, the hardest mode still has this set to low. Second, you can set more things visible in the mirror if you edit the PLR file, (in the save/playername/settings folder, named playername.plr) I'm at work now, I can't check if smoke is an option in there. >2) I think it'd be cool to see gradual tire wear as we progress in the race. I didn't test it yet, but can't you see this on the LCD? The little green bar above each wheel. (Use the H key (default) to change the LCD mode) Remco

Wow that's a game I had long forgot about. I guess that was really my first pc racing game I ever played back on my C64. Ah those good old days of 10 minute load times, a single joystick with one button, and doing it all on the living room TV :-)
For me it was Revs on my old BBC Model B!!! Still have great memories of GC's classic! Iain "iksteh" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:3bce39d6$[email hidden]...
