I just bought an ATI RADEON 7200 AGP with 64Mb SDR memory, and it kicks wholy
@$$!!!! Cost only $99 at Best Buy. Added it to my system, which I thought
was past it....
Intel PIII 500Mhz
192 Mb Ram
No luckups, no jumping back to the desktop, no flickering, nothing, zilch,
nada!!!
Full grahpics too!!! Ran the video setup that came with the game and set it at
16bit 1162x864 and got something like 11 trillion triangles/sec. High on both
detail levels too! No INVIDIA driver problems here!! Worked first time out.
Only problem I've had was when setting my desktop screen size. Tried to set it
to 1024x768, but when Win setup changed it, it shut my monitor off. Luckily
after 15 seconds it clicked back to 800x600. So it was either 800x600 or
1162x864. If anyone can remedy that, let me know. The ATI box has a snake on
it. Didn't realize that there were so many Radeon boards available. There's
another one that's, I believe a 7800 model, and it's $199.
Let's hear your comments...
Sounds like the refresh rate the ATI is trying to use for 1024 is not
working with your monitor. Make sure you have a true monitor driver loaded,
not a "default monitor"
