After testing 6 different video cards this weekend, I finally bit the bullet and bought a GeForce 3 Ti200 for my Athlon XP 1500+ system. I knew about the "old" driver requirement for F1 2001and have it running fine with 12.41 drivers. GPL seems O.K except that sometimes the menus have no words at all, but I know it so well I don't need them :-). GP3 has a very strange effect. The entire background is brown (track, sky, grandstands and scenery) and the only part of the cars visible is the wheels. So I have these perfectly rendered BBS wheels (4 per car) disappearing off into a brown nothingness until I run into an invisible fence or something. Also sometimes I can't get past the first menu in NFS5, as the words are missing and there is no mouse cursor, however occassionally it works fine. Then there's Midtown Madness 1 and 2, where the sky and most of the buildings are large multi-coloured trinagles! What I'm asking is: are these usual driver problems and what version of the NVidia drivers will give acceptable results in the majority of (or some) sims Really starting to regret my choice (based on framerates in GPL and F1 2001)! TIA.. Phillip...
