I also have a problem now with N4.. I installed the patch yesterday,
and the game freezed after driving 10 seconds.. well the screen
freezed, game itself went on.. is this patch related or shouldn't I
have messed with my GF2 drivers while trying to getting F1 2001
running smoothly?
I have the 7.58 drivers know, is it known that these drivers cause
problems with N4?

Atleast you got it to run after the patch Andre.. After the patch my
N4 won't even doing anything!! I click the Nascar 4 icon now and

Save replay or export = Crash to Desktop.
It's not just me, everyone in a papy server had this happened, and had to
rejoin the server.
Whether other racers were booted off server by me saving replay/export
is......??????
Save replay or export = Screen Freeze
At one time while spectating a practice session, I saved a screenshot which
caused (I believe) a car ahead of the racer that I was spectating on to
crash bizarrely.
In the times that I was able to save replays, I have some saved replays of
bizarre graphics abnormities (ala pre-patched N4)
Like:
After one fairly large pile up on the Daytona Day track, the number 12 car
did a wheelie through the Tri-Oval after wreak.
Thought I was seeing things in my rear view mirror. LOL
Checked replay again to see is car was hung up on wall/fence, nope was
definitely pulling a wheelie.
Maybe he had nitrous?
Cars submarining into the track surface and darting left and right.
Now I know allot of this has to do with warping and connection quality, but
this is worse than the previous patch.
Like back to the original Nascar 4 problems.
Some problems with game loading, especially when you click on "Run" when CD
auto-plays. Screen Freeze at first Sierra Logo screen.
Control-Alt-Delete "Nascar 4 Not Responding"
Start from desktop Icon OK, sometimes needs a reboot after this happens.
CD Copy protection problem???
Setups:
Whoa... Do we have to redo all the setups again? Seems like I'm dragging an
anchor now, speeds are down. :(((
This is like the GPL patch, none of my setups (pre-patch) would lap anywhere
near the lap times after the patch.
What is this "Locking" of setups that Thom j. refers to?
Or is it a realism modification? Like my pit crew was hung-over and left a
rag in the intake manifold???

What am I handicapped now that my rating is up? I used to Qualify in the top
10 now it's like 15th to 25th?
The dragging anchor syndrome again.
I don't really mind when all top 20 Qualifiers are all within1 second apart,
but when I see the top five Qualifiers 2 seconds better than anyone else, I
suspect that there is new Qualifying cheating going on.
Still some idiots trying to shortcut down pit road.
To many idiots merging to early. No penalty for this???
Now a lot of this can be blamed on "Is your controller calibrated properly?"
But after these "Testing Sessions" I went over to the WON servers and raced
about 1/2 dozen races, and everything seemed normal. Just don't pass the
league boys...he he, they git a little upset an try to take you out to
regain the lead. LOL

Is shift/control click profile whatever not working?
Why do I have to control-I every session to get my spotter to announce the
lap times? Is there an entry in an ini file? Ala N3?
Geee do you think they could of included support for a wheel mouse in the
navigation menu's by now?
This applies to all games, thus it is a "Minor Rant".
MOTD, I guess I need to click on "OK" to agree to the MOTD, think they
should change it to "Agree" for the wreaking message. LOL
It makes me feel like I'm on Fileplanet to download a file, to many clicks.
N3 > Multiplayer > Connect
N4 > Multiplayer > Sierra.com > MOTD > OK
Zig-Zag Skid marks, going up into the sky? I know this is a carry over from
the GPL engine and happens only online but.....
Skid buffer not enough, man I like seeing that rubber on the
track.........he he

Has anyone gone back to the 1.1.0.0 patch? Probably needs a reinstall and
registry clean of game? :::((((

I reported this a couple of weeks ago - possible solution is to delete all
your previous (pre-patched) exports from the, er, Export directory. I've
done this and it *seems* to work....

Need For Speed High Stakes was like this, previous patch replays would not
play, but no crash when saving files with a new patch version.
I did have this happen on my other HD with a WinMe/Radeon card setup, when I
tried to resume a saved race from the 1.1.0.0 patch.
Could sort of figured it would do that.
Oh well looks like we'll be waiting for the patch, patch. heh

I flash my bios all the time, just backward flashed my NVIDIA bios back to
the original......
Hmmmmmmmmmmm maybe that's why shadows in N4 are corrupted again.
Flashed my motherboard let's see 1.006 > 1.007 > 1.008 > 1.009 = 4 times.

GeFarce card 3 times now.
Just make sure that the power doesn't go out while your doing it MB/Video.
