A while ago I heard of a rear view patch for online so as to be able to see
up to five cars behind. Is this a good patch to have or does it have
limitations as I only have a 56k connection any advise would be appreciated.
If the answers yes do you know where I can download it.
Regards
Bob
Rich its basically unusable for 56k connections as the load is to high.

Hi,
The patch is here: http://www.xs4all.nl/~westrab/gpl.htm#bw. See the
readme's for estimates on how many cars can be shown on what connections.
You can't use the patch individually, all participants in a race must follow
the server's settings. We use it in Mara to show 4 cars in front and 2
behind, which helps already a lot to reduce incidents due to cars suddenly
appearing. For 6 cars total, a 19Kb connection is sufficient.

Great patch Bart, we are running it on the ASRG servers in winVROC with
great success.
56K modem, cable, ADSL all have reported it to be working fine with no
increase in ping or loss of quality.
Bye,

Thankyou for the help
Regards
Bob
