whys that..?
Westinghouse 37" 1080p LCD by chance? It's what I PC with. Love it except for the heavy horsepower needed to push the native res. :) Paulinho wrote: > Well I've just bought a 37" HD-TV with pc inputs... dvi and normal !!! > > cant wait to try R-Factor out in a min ! >

I have first to congratulate the developpers of rFactor for having native 16:9 support. It's such a natural for racing sims. We all know from GPL. One thing for sure is that dual-monitors is a no-go imho for racing 'cause it's SO annoying having your horizon split in two on each screen :-) 3 is a charm. Anyway to answer you... to keep a 60hz rate means that you'll probably have to lower the res from 1080i to standards that good PC's can easily match and go much higher, they can go above the 2million pixels of 1080i in raw surface anyway so its easily equal to 1080i. Or else you'll be stuck in native 30 hz, that's not fun. There's some overscan problems also iirc with rFactor, but that can be fixed with driver tweaks. We're getting friggin close that's for sure in terms of software. In a year I expect all PC games to all support 1080i on the PC for outputting to an HDTV. They must do to battle against the 3 new consoles. 4:3 CRT monitors are slowly going to dissapear. I give them 3 more years max, but they will probably still be available like 4:3 TV's today. -- -- Franois Mnard <ymenard> -- This announcement is brought to you by the Shimago-Dominguez Corporation - helping America into the New World...
yeah please giv more info about the purchase, so I can dream about one at least... I imagine it was not on the clearance rack, even if it was... Still it would be nice to know what you got, you know in case I get a chance or something. Paulinho enlightened us with:
