Notes on 23:10 drivers: 1. While the 23.10's did not increase the 3DM2K1 scores, it did boost FPS in N4 as shown. 2. There's a problem with the LOD bias on these drivers, you'll need an appropriate "tweak" utility to fix this. Otherwise, when ever you set the mipmapp bias...you'll need to reboot your system before it takes effect. 3. Also, I noticed an improvement in the GPL track graphic quality....perhaps a 20% improvement in the color depth quality and clarity. Also, it appears that "jaggies" are reduced.....all of this is a very subjective observation but I have been working on several track graphic projects lately in GPL on the "race box" below and I am keenly aware of the graphic textures and quality at the moment on that system. The improvement as noted, is quite obvious and apparent to me with the 23.10's. (Note: This improvement only applies to the tracks I have retextured in high-res textures, it does not apply to the other tracks I have installed, including all of those retextured via Internet download over the last year or two). GPL FPS remains pegged at 39 FPS as measured by FRAPPS....including the new high-res tracks (at 1600x1200). The D3D UI screen flash has disappeared as well. Though, I have not noticed this since the 22.80....that I can think of, so this may not be unique to these 23.10's. All these drivers did for my Gforce2 MX was screw up my system and put a mouse cursor in the middle of my Counter-Strike game screen. I went back to the 21.83 ones, have no problems with them. Vintook "Tom Pabst" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:HTOQ7.25125$Yy.306252@rwcrnsc53...

Has anyone else noticed a change in the "Z-buffer depth" settings with the 23.11 drivers? 3DMark2001 gave me a choice of 16, 24, or 32 bit with the 21.85 drivers. Now with the 23.11 drivers I only have the choice of 16 or 24 bit. All seems to run fine - actually saw a slight increase in the 3D Mark with the 23.11 driver.
