First In-Car shots of WSC!!!

Leaked WSC in-car shots posted then pulled

Ian Bell announced in-car WSC screenshots on SimBin, captured from the West brothers' webcam, then removed them hours later on request. Posters criticised the secrecy around WSC as alienating the community, while others defended the developers. The thread ended with confusion over whether the webcam had been moved or password-protected.

Or could be that it was a screen shot singular and showed, er, well, nothing really. A fuzzy dark picture of possibly an A-pillar and a drivers helmet.
There were 3 in-car shots and 13 other very nice pictures including 4 with the camera very close to the screen. They looked very impressive to me. They were up for over 3 hours guys. 383 page views. A friend sat up until 4:00am staring at the screen to get them. As we don't advertise or anything, we don't need hits. I just wanted to share the pictures, no underhand motives at all. I've always shared everything I get or do with the sim community. I don't mean to annoy or offend anyone and if I have then I am truely sorry. Funny you should mention it there was an A pillar and a Drivers helmet. :-) Ian www.simbin.com "Kevin Clark" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Hmm...short memory? ;) How can you say you won't buy it full stop even if it does come out? This is rec.auto.simulators, so I'd have to guess you have at least a minor interest in racing sims, and clearly at this point you have no idea of the quality of it (neither does anyone really), so what basis do you have for rejecting it full stop at this point? Because I don't care for Sports Car racing, real or simulated simple as that, just personal taste is all. I do have an interest(have since World Circuit) in racing sims, but not all of them, just like some don't care for Nascar sims, modern F1 sims, etc. Also, thanks for digging up my previous post, I stand corrected. Make that two whole posts I've done, sorry :) Interesting turn this ng has taken: 1. No OT posts(understandable to a point), only racing sim related posts dammit! 2. No posts about WSC, even though it's racing sim related, dammit! :) Compressing things a bit obviously, but still a bit humorous. -John Simon Brown <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:LmzR7.49545$[email hidden]...

The webcam has now moved to here http://web.ukonline.co.uk/chris.west/~webcam/ and you now need a username and password to access it. A real shame, I only found out about it too recently to ever see WSC on it. I wish I knew the inside story of why Empire won't allow any screens or info on the game out, it is very odd. Must be licensing. "Ian Bell" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:5uyR7.4720$[email hidden]... > Yes Simon they were off the webcam. I'm watchin' it, I'm watchin' it! Right now there's a stuffed snowman in a pointed hat next to a big monitor with what looks like a Maisto diecast of a Porsche 550A Spyder on top. Again, since no one is getting the message, it hasn't updated for about 36 hours now. "Bart Brown" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > I'm watchin' it, I'm watchin' it! Hmm not aware of any change on it, and as for the image being the same for 24 hours, no big deal there. At one point it was only active once every 2 weeks-2months. Longest I've seen it go inactive was probably about 4-5 months....possibly not that long, possibly longer, but it was a while. That's what I meant by it only being active occasionally an you have to be watching at the right time to be able to see anything. Unless there's an official word somewhere from the Wests that it's shut down, it's probably just that it's inactive. Well then why have they set up a new url (http://web.ukonline.co.uk/chris.west/~webcam/ ) that is clearly a webcam on the west's site, and that needs a password? Anyway, I hope the old one starts working again :) "Michael Crane" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:TGPR7.37043$[email hidden]...

Not really sure they setup a new url... http://web.ukonline.co.uk/chris.west/webcam also works and is the same webcam as the original url...might be how you access it to start the feed, I dunno...not really knowledgeable about anything to do with webcams, but I'm fairly certain that the original webcam is still working, just inactive for the moment. We'll find out eventually, but I'll be surprised if it's turned off...last time I know of that it was off completely rather than just inactive it didn't load any image at all.
