First screenshots of Codemasters' Pro Race Driver

Posters shared screenshots of Codemasters' upcoming Pro Race Driver, to be branded as TOCA, DTM or V8 Supercars Race Driver in different regions. Reactions mixed excitement over the visuals and DVD-ROM format with scepticism about realism and whether the shots were rendered rather than in-game. Some hoped it would become the first decent BTCC sim.

I get ZERO popups from this site, without any modifications to my system or browser. "whodaguy" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:3ihS7.119167$[email hidden]... > Nice shots indeed, but don't move off the page unless you enjoy closing > pop-up after pop-up after pop-up.... >

Shoot - I won't be able to run it... :( Eldred -- Dale Earnhardt, Sr. R.I.P. 1951-2001 Homepage - http://www.umich.edu/~epickett GPLRank - under construction... Never argue with an idiot. He brings you down to his level, then beats you with experience... Remove SPAM-OFF to reply.
They say that in the UK it will be called TOCA race driver, Germany it will be called DTM race driver, and in Australia it will be V8 supercars race driver...I wonder if they will have different cars/tracks for each of these releases, or if they will just try to pass one carset and trackset off as being for all the different series. All I can figure is he either was surfing porn earlier and it was a delayed reaction or he's just trying to scare people off from looking at the site. Your guess is as good as mine. Like others have said, there's no issue with the site. I would never do that kinda trick. EVER. PS - The site was. http://www.teamxbox.com/news.php?id=2342&fc=1 "Cliff Roman" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... : Neither did I, was kinda wondering what he was talking about : : : "John Smith" <[email hidden]> wrote in message : news:hyrS7.5018$[email hidden]... : > I get ZERO popups from this site, without any modifications to my system : or : > browser. : > : > "whodaguy" <[email hidden]> wrote in message : > news:3ihS7.119167$[email hidden]... : > > Nice shots indeed, but don't move off the page unless you enjoy closing : > > pop-up after pop-up after pop-up.... : > > : > : > : :

Will it be any good, I wonder? Fancy branding and graphics are one thing, but what about the realism? I'm *so* looking forward to someone releasing a decent BTCC sim!!! -- Richard. "Cellophane flowers of yellow and green. Towering over your head."
Richard, I think that this will be the next generation of the brilliant AI from the little know PS One game Jarett and Labonte racing (which was really a TOCA game with a misleading title). The AI in that game was terrific. They raced with different styles, different levels of aggression, and most importantly they seemed eerily human. I could not believe this was the AI of a PS game. The physics and damage model were damn good as well. The big drawback was dated graphics running it on a PS2 and viewing huge jaggies on a 36 inch TV with no USB wheel support. ;0) Imagine the potential of this updated on a powerful machine. I am very excited about the evolution of this AI given the advantages of a PC or nextgen console. I think this game has the potential to be . . . wait for it . . . the GPL of professional sports car racing. A bold claim, I'll take my chances. ;0) -- Joe Marques "Richard Walker" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Will it be any good, I wonder? > > Fancy branding and graphics are one thing, but what about the realism?
