Leipzig Stadtparkrennen street track released for GPL

Andre Warringa announced Andre Streu's new GPL track of the Leipzig street circuit, which posters praised as colorful and well made alongside other recent releases such as Castle Combe and Adelaide. Most of the thread helped David G Fisher, who had reinstalled GPL to try it, with the D3D patch forcing 640x480 and force feedback not working, focusing on core.ini and patch versions.

Oh boy what a beauty.. by Andre Streu, who also made Halle and Grenzland. A race on the public roads through the town of Leipzig! The German Monaco :) Screenshots and download here: http://www.andre-gpl-texture.racesim.net/leipzig.html PS also check the screenies of the upcoming track Ridgehill Raceway: http://quicksitebuilder.cnet.com/time4dx/toploadersgplfunfactory/id18.html Have I mentioned today that GPL is getting better and better each day? Well, it is :D Andre

My new fave. I love the chicanes on the back straight. I now find myself wishing that more old tracks included chicanes.. strange, that...

No problems here. This must be the most colourful track to date. Nice work tho, What a great set of new tracks we've had recently, Castle-Combe, Adelaide and now this GREAT! Well I actually re-installed GPL just so I could try out this track. Installed the patches. Set it to the DirectX rasterizer. Changed it to the resolution I wanted. Re-started. Even re-booted. Unfortunately it is forcing me to run it in 640x480 which is a mess. Any solutions? David G Fisher "David G Fisher" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:ztvU7.321334$[email hidden]...

Here's my d3d part from the core.ini: [ Direct3D7 ] D3DDevice = 0 TossHighestMip = 0 DoubleMirrorResWidth = 1 DoubleMirrorResHeight = 1 DirectMirrorRendering = 1 DisableZBuffer = 0 AlphaThreshold = 1 TransparentMipsDrawOrder = 1 TrilinearFiltering = 1 AnisotropicFiltering = 2 LODBias = -150 I think when it only lets you run in 640x480 mode, you are running the software mode instead of d3d, which looks really crappy indeed. Andre
I changed my core.ini to match yours, but still the same problem. FF doesn't work either. Also, the game crashed to the desktop when I crashed the car on a few occasions. I did some laps around the track though, and it is definitely a very, very well done track. Seems like it doesn't reckognize your core.ini file, since ff doesn't work either. Thinking deep now.. I can remember some people had problems with the core.ini because there was an hidden extension behind it. The default core.ini in the gpl folder is named core.ini.sample, and on some systems the .sample part is hidden and gpl simply ignores this core.ini.sample file. Could you check if yours has a hidden extension? What you also can do is extract my core.ini file to your gpl folder: http://members1.chello.nl/~a.warringa1/core.zip PS you also installed update 1.2 from www.papy.com ? This is necessary for the force feedback to work. Andre
I put your core.ini in but still the same problems (forced 640x480). Even did a complete re-install (with your core and again the 1.2 patch and D3D patch, in that order), but no luck. David G Fisher "Andre Warringa" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Make sure that app.ini in your gpl folder is not set to read-only. Do you see your selected resolution in gpl\players\<your_player_name>\player.ini? David G Fisher wrote:

It's set to archive. I want to run it at 800 x 600, and that's what it says it's et to in the player.ini file. David G Fisher "Pierre Robitaille" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

A couple of months ago a new d3d patch was released by papy, allthough there no notification of this on their site afaik. They simply replaced the old d3d zipfile with the new one. Perhaps you had the older version on your HD? Otherwise.. I can't think of another solution I'm affraid.. In all the cases someone had this problem, there was something wrong with the core.ini file.. BTW, with my core.ini installed, the ff still doesn't work? In that case it's clearly that GPL for some reason can not find the correct core.ini file.. you put the core.ini in your sierra\gpl folder right? Andre

I used the one from theuspits.com . I'll re-download it and try again.

Yes. It's right there in the main directory. David G Fisher

Also make sure you rename it from core.ini.sample to just core.ini -- Fester
